Man, it must be brutal being a Democrat right now, breathlessly waiting for the '28 presidential election so you can finally get Trump out of your head and get a good old progressive back in the Oval Office. The problem? The potential candidate list so far is laugh-out-loud pathetic, a sad list of mostly failed “leaders” who almost all carry mountains of political baggage around their necks.
You’ve got to choose between the Queen of Emptiness and Word Salads, former Democrat presidential nominee and VP Kamala Harris, the walking meme that is NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the not ready for prime time Illinois governor, JB Pritzker, Jazz Hands faux tough guy, former Democrat vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Golden State Gov. Gavin Newsom, who’s driven his state into the ground and is currently allowing a boy to dominate the females in the state high school track and field finals… The list goes on.
So, who does a good Democrat choose? The answer for now, at least, is former Transportation Secretary and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg. (Darn it, I just spat my coffee out on my keyboard.)
More than 30% of Democrat voters support Pete Buttigieg as their preferred candidate for the 2028 presidential race, according to a new national poll, positioning him ahead of prominent party figures such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and former Vice President Kamala Harris, Breitbart reported.
A new AtlasIntel poll has found that the former transportation secretary leads the field of potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 presidential election, garnering support from 31.5 percent of Democratic-identifying respondents.
The survey, conducted from May 21-27 polled 3,469 adults across the United States. The margin of error was not provided.
I’m having trouble writing because I am too busy laughing to type.

I don’t want to be unnecessarily mean to Mayor Pete, but we can’t ignore the fact that he wasn’t exactly stellar as Transportation Secretary. He talked plenty about “racist roads,” but couldn’t be bothered to visit East Palestine, Ohio, for weeks after a disastrous chemical spill; he oversaw an EV charging station project that burned through billions but produced a miniscule amount of stations; and he went on paternity leave during the height of the 2021 supply chain crisis.
That’s just a partial list of his record that Vice President JD Vance, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, or any other Republican contender would quite fairly savage him on.
Buttigieg has now grown a beard, though, so maybe that will help.
“The Federal Highway Administration says only 7 or 8 charging stations have been produced with the $7.5 billion investment that taxpayers made back in 2021.”

Buttigieg is the most incapable Transportation Secretary in U.S. history.
It’s not even close.pic.twitter.com/vxLHgo8e7d
Poor Kamala Harris, once the undisputed leader in polling for Dems in ’28. Now she’s fallen behind not only Buttigieg but AOC as well. Gavin Newsom is likely to have his massive ego injured also, since he’s only pulling in a feeble seven percent.
I could be wrong here, but I’m betting that we will not be seeing a “President Pete” anytime soon.
Biden and Buttigieg spent more time changing the name of the cockpit to flight deck than fixing our air traffic control infrastructure.
