If you’ve ever read the "Sherlock Holmes" stories, you’ll know that Dr. Moriarty is the legendary detective’s cunning archnemesis. These days, there’s another Moriarity currently exhibiting questionable behavior, but she’s a prosecutor, not a doctor.
As we’ve reported, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty gave the soft treatment to a government employee who keyed Teslas—to the tune of $21K in damage—but charged another women with a first-degree felony for doing the same thing to a car that wasn’t a Tesla (even though the damage was only $6K in that case).
Talk about a two-tiered system of justice.
NEWS: After deciding to not charge 33-year-old Dylan Adams for allegedly vandalizing six Teslas and causing over $21,000 in damage, Minneapolis County Attorney Mary Moriarty, on the same day, charged a 19-year-old woman with no record with a first-degree felony for keying one car… pic.twitter.com/nnS6UnE48b

The tweet continues:
So she did not charge Dylan for causing $21,000 in damage to Teslas, but did charge someone else on the same day for doing $7,000 in damage to a non-Tesla vehicle?!

Here Are the Infuriating 'Consequences' for That Minnesota Employee Accused of Damaging Teslas
You probably thought to yourself, I bet this woman has more progressive, extremist acts on her resumé. If so, you were on target, because it turns out this supposed law enforcement officer believes you should be treated differently according to your race and age:
The office of Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, which recently let a Democrat-connected alleged Tesla vandal off with a slap on the wrist, issued the internal document "Negotiations Policy for Cases Involving Adult Defendants." It directs prosecutors to consider "racial identity and age" as they negotiate plea deals, local Minnestota outlet KARE 11 first reported last week.
"While racial identity and age are not appropriate grounds for departures [from the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines], proposed resolutions should consider the person charged as a whole person, including their racial identity and age," the internal document states, according to the outlet.
You should consider the "whole person" when determining the appropriate punishment. How about considering the "whole crime" instead?

Race and age should not be a factor in sentencing or determining parole eligibility; that should be obvious to anyone who’s familiar with the Constitution and the law. I thought justice was supposed to be blind?
But the do-gooding attorney thinks she can right all the wrongs of the past, despite the fact that her proposal is inherently racist:
"While these factors should not be controlling, they should be part of the overall analysis. Racial disparities harm our community, lead to distrust, and have a negative impact on community safety. Prosecutors should be identifying and addressing racial disparities at decision points, as appropriate," it continues.
The policy changes are set to take effect on April 28, according to the outlet. Hennepin County encompasses the city of Minneapolis and is the most populous county in the Democrat-run state.
A local attorney is already calling foul:
"It both says, 'Don't take race into account,' presumably because of the constitutional problems with taking race into account in addition to potentially political objections, but it simultaneously says this is something you should consider," Jill Hasday, a University of Minnesota law professor, told the outlet [KARE 11]. "And the problem for the drafters of this policy is, once you take race into account, it doesn't really matter what else you say. The policy is going to be struck down."
I imagine the Justice Department will soon be taking a real close look at this one.
Hello Pam Bondi, Minnesota is calling.
