Trump Has a Campaign Tip for Kamala Harris: You Need to Change This One Thing to Even Have a Prayer

As we reported, Donald Trump flew to Philadelphia to attend the NCAA wrestling championships in Philadelphia. One of those lucky enough to fly with him aboard Air Force One was OutKick founder and radio host Clay Travis, whose outlet reported the story with some humor:

OutKick founder Clay Travis has had a cooler weekend than you (and me, for that matter).

That's because he spent Friday and Saturday as a member of the White House Press Pool and flew aboard Air Force One to New Jersey on Friday night, and then to Philadelphia for the NCAA Wrestling Tournament.

This meant that OutKick made history as the first sports website to ever be a part of the Press Pool.

The administration’s new press policies also led to Townhall editor Katie Pavlich and RedState's parent company Townhall Media getting a shout-out from Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday.

Trump and Travis discussed numerous subjects, but one that’s catching some attention is the president's advice for failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who’s rumored to be mulling a run for governor of California despite turning in one of the worst major campaign performances in living history. Trump knows one of the reasons why: hide from the media, pay the price:

“Let her run,” Trump, 78, told OutKick’s Clay Travis during an interview Saturday when asked about her future. “I don’t want to be [giving] people advice politically, but one thing she’s gotta start doing is she’s gotta start giving interviews.

“[Former President Joe Biden] — during the COVID thing, he did no interviews, and he got away with it because of COVID.”

"What they were doing didn’t work,” he said later in the interview.

Harris famously did very few interviews during her short-lived campaign and failed to negotiate (or purposefully kneecapped) an appearance on the wildly popular Joe Rogan podcast. Trump, meanwhile, took full advantage of such free press and praised his youngest son Barron, 19, for his expertise with new media and for encouraging his dad to go on it as much as possible.

Trump’s VP pick, JD Vance, was also a crucial asset to the race and appeared on numerous outlets vigorously (and expertly) defending his boss. Harris inexplicably picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who faceplanted numerous times on the campaign trail and was arguably a net deficit to her chances. He (laughably) thinks he should have been called on to do more:

Harris’ vice presidential pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), has since complained that the campaign apparatus hamstrung him when it came to doing interviews during the race.

Walz said that he offered to do significantly more public events during the race’s homestretch last year but that the campaign rejected his suggestion, according to CNN.

For someone who allegedly has plans for a relevant political future, Kamala has certainly been lying low since her November loss, holding exactly zero formal interviews and only making a couple of appearances, such as at the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards last month, where she immediately launched into another incoherent word salad.

Trump is smart, but I don’t think even he has enough advice to make Kamala Harris into a good candidate. Voters in California are zany enough to hand her a gubernatorial win, but I don’t see that she’d stand a snowball’s chance in hell at the national level.

That is why I strongly encourage her to run in ’28.
