Biden Turns to Hollywood Lefties to Salvage His Campaign—but Is It Too Late?

President Joe Biden couldn’t get away from his disastrous European trip quickly enough, jetting off from his meeting with G7 leaders to Hollywood, where he expects to rake in millions in cold hard cash Saturday night from the mostly leftist community. Organizers have announced that he’s already pulled in $28 million for the up to $500K for four dinner at the Peacock Theater, part of the LA Live complex.

The expected usual Biden torchbearers will be in attendance: actor George Clooney, his wife Amal (a human rights attorney), Julia Roberts, DNC talking point comedian Jimmy Kimmel, and, of course, Barack Obama. Media mogul and Dem megadonor Jeffrey Katzenberg said the event would break records:

Tonight’s event, at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, will feature Biden in conversation with Obama and Jimmy Kimmel. The event is a combination high dollar and low dollar fundraiser, with donors shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars for a ticket for choice seats and a reception, while the campaign has held a contest to field grassroots donations, with supporters entering with a chance to win a trip to attend.

Others on the bill tonight include Jason Bateman, Jack Black, Kathryn Hahn and Sheryl Lee Ralph.

It’s getting hard to turn on the TV or go to the movies these days because there’s a 90 percent chance that some actor is going to appear on your screen and make you want to walk away because you know that in their free time, they’re busy spouting leftist propaganda. Jimmy Kimmel and most of the other late-night hosts—with the exception of Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld—are virtually unwatchable because they are so heavy-handed in their humorless monologues that insult half the country. I begrudgingly admit that actor Mark Ruffalo does his day job well, but then you see his deranged tweets and rantings and realize he’d probably be perfectly at home sitting on a couch raving and haranguing with former sportscaster Keith Olbermann, who seems to have left the sanity reservation entirely. There are so many others.

Remember when Hollywood stars were heroes? Jimmy Stewart stepped away from a burgeoning acting career to go drop bombs on the Nazis. Elvis Presley was drafted, but instead of sulking, he eschewed the cushy jobs he could have gotten and insisted on enlisting as a regular soldier and was deployed to Germany.

We still have some heroes left in Tinseltown—Gary Sinise, Jon Voight, James Woods, to name a few—but most of the rest of them are further left than Bernie Sanders.

At least some artists are delivering much-need mockery of the proceedings:

Street Artist Sabo Mocks Biden and Amal and George Clooney on the Eve of a California Democrat Fundraiser

Amal Clooney has been in the news lately, as my colleague Jennifer Oliver O’Connell reports in the above article:

Amal Clooney is a supposed human rights lawyer who pours her money and time into important causes like recommending the International Criminal Court issue warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and funding elections of Democrat and left-wing candidates to positions of power. Hence, Mrs. Clooney's presence at this Hollywood glitterfest to help her husband, George Clooney, charm, press the flesh, and extract funds from people with too much money and time on their hands.

Biden may collect a huge haul from his star-studded gala, but Trump’s been busy too—he collected a cool $50 million at a recent Palm Beach fundraiser. Meanwhile, money and celebrity can’t hide Biden’s increasingly obvious dementia, nor the fact that Americans are turning away in droves because his policies have made their lives worse.

If this were a movie, I wouldn’t bet on a happy ending for Joe Biden.
