Rand Paul Eviscerates Tony Fauci, 'For His Dishonesty, Frankly, He Should Go to Prison'

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is certainly no fan of Dr. Tony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the face of the government’s COVID response for most of the pandemic. The two repeatedly clashed in Senate hearings over mask-wearing, lockdowns, and whether the U.S. funded virus “gain-of-function” research -- a charge Fauci adamantly denied.

Fauci appeared in early January before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic to deliver closed-door testimony, revealing that he did not “follow the science” and was, in fact, sometimes just making things up on the fly.

Just because the good doctor has retired doesn’t mean that Rand Paul has forgotten him or the damage he did to this country. In an interview Sunday on WABC 770 AM’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Paul eviscerated the former White House chief medical examiner:

"History should judge him as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history — in the entire history of the world..."

“For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison,” Paul told WABC host John Catsimatidis. “Do you think the scientific knowledge that was gained from this research was worth the deaths of 20 million people?”

The Kentuckian also took to Twitter/X to condemn Fauci's draconian recommendations during his rule:

Fauci's testimony was not well received by Fauci or Committee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH):

The chairman of the committee, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), has said he was surprised how frequently Fauci said he didn’t recall decisions or circumstances during the early days of the outbreak that killed 1.1 million Americans.

Paul pounced on the 83-year-old Fauci’s of not being able to respond to questions over 100 times.

“A guy that’s smart enough to think that he can shut down the schools, shut down the economy, force everybody to get vaccinated, including children, including people who have already had COVID, including the military – we had mandates everywhere, and he was all for them – yet he can’t recall how the decision-making went or what the science is to support this,” Paul said Sunday.

Although Paul is right on point with his criticisms, it's unlikely that Fauci will face any consequences for his disastrous reign where an untold number of people lost their livelihoods to vax mandates, businesses were shuttered, learning loss in children shot through the roof, and families were torn apart. As long as this administration is in power, you can expect Joe Biden, Democrat governors like Gretchen Whitmer (MI) with her seed ban, Gavin Newsom (CA) or J.B. Pritzker (IL) et al, or people like former CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, to learn exactly nothing.

If they had the chance at a do-over, they'd probably do the exact same things.
