Although the media often tries to make the border crisis look like a partisan issue that only Republicans care about, the reality is that Biden's disastrous policies have angered even those on the left. As we reported, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who recently announced huge budget cuts in education and law enforcement because they've spent so much money on illegal immigrants, returned empty-handed from meetings with administration officials in Washington, D.C.
He lamented Friday, "The cold reality [is] that help is not on the way."
Also on Friday, Arizona Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs wrote a letter to the federal government demanding they reimburse her state over half a billion dollars for the transport of illegal immigrants, drug interdiction, and law enforcement “due to the federal government's failure to secure our border.”
The federal government must act immediately to solve the unmitigated crisis caused by the Lukeville Port of Entry closure.

Today, I sent a letter to President Biden calling on him to reassign National Guard members to assist in its reopening, as well as reimburse the $512,529,333 federal border inaction has cost us.
The letter comes in the wake of the administration's decision to close the Lukeville border crossing in an attempt to stop the waves of illegals seeking entry into the U.S.:
It comes after Customs and Border Protection encounters with migrants at the southern border reportedly hit a one-day high of 12,000 on Tuesday, including more than 10,200 who were detained illegally entering the US from Mexico between ports of entry.
On Monday, CBP closed the Lukeville border crossing in Arizona indefinitely, in order to surge agents from the crossing to help arrest and process a flood of migrants walking across the border to claim asylum.
The desolate area around the remote crossing has become a global migration route in recent months, with smugglers dropping off people from countries as far flung as Senegal, India and China.
Hobbs complained in her letter that the Lukeville crossing is vital to Arizona's health. "Our ports of entry are essential to our state and our country's economy, and it is vital that they be properly staffed and resourced to continue to fuel economic growth in the state," she said.
Border security is a top priority of mine. As long as I’m Governor, I will do everything I can to keep Arizonans safe — even when the federal government fails to act.

Hobbs isn't the only Arizona politician concerned about Biden's refusal to deal with the border. Sens. Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema blasted the administration as well, joining with Hobbs to release a statement on December 1:
Arizona border communities are in crisis and our men and women on the front lines do not have the resources they need to manage the overwhelming numbers of migrants crossing the border. With over 2,000 migrants coming across the Tucson sector daily, CBP has announced they will temporarily close the Lukeville, Arizona Port of Entry and redirect all officers – who would otherwise manage the everyday travel of workers and tourists that businesses rely on and trade that drives our economy forward – to instead help U.S. Border Patrol process migrants.
This is an unacceptable outcome that further destabilizes our border, risks the safety of our communities, and damages our economy by disrupting trade and tourism.
Kelly is a Democrat, while Sinema left the party in 2022 to become an Independent. She's hardly a die-hard conservative, though.
The press and liberals have long portrayed the border crisis as a figment of conservatives' imagination and that it's just not that big a deal. Increasingly, however, even Dems like Adams, Hobbs, and Kelly are jumping ship and blasting Biden for his impotence. That's how bad this problem is.
