Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized and is in critical but stable condition, according to a statement from his spokesman.
The update first came Sunday evening from Ted Goodman, a political strategist and close associate who co-hosts a livestream program with Giuliani, who shared the news in a post on X. As of Sunday night, no hospital, family member, or official medical representative had released additional details about Giuliani’s condition, including the cause of admission or which facility is treating him.
Goodman wrote:
Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he's fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he's fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.
We do ask that you join us in prayer for America's Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
Further reporting confirmed that no reason has been given for why Giuliani, 81, was sent to the hospital or where he is currently being treated.
President Donald Trump posted about Giuliani’s hospitalization in a Truth Social post, reposted by the White House’s Rapid Response Twitter/X account, in which the president confirmed the situation while praising his longtime ally.

“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” Trump wrote. “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”
Giuliani is widely known as "America's Mayor" for his leadership following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He served two terms as New York City mayor from 1994 to 2001 and remained active in national politics in the years that followed.

In recent years, Giuliani served as President Trump's personal attorney and represented him in legal efforts to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election. He was later disbarred in New York and Washington, D.C., and faced state-level charges related to those efforts, which he has denied.
No further details have been released on the reason for the hospitalization or Giuliani's prognosis.
