The results of Tuesday night's New York Democratic primary have been coming for a while. But Democrats have clearly been sticking their heads in the sand. Now, Democratic Socialists are front and center, and there is a very good argument that it is now Zohran Mamdani's party. Granted, New York is deep blue and is just one part of the entire nation. But make no mistake, Democratic Socialists are just getting their march across the country started.
So, who are the next crop of Democratic Socialists running across the country? Well, for starters, there is Melat Kiros. Her situation is familiar. She is running in Colorado against 30-year incumbent Democrat Diana DeGette (CO-01). Her campaign website is also familiar. She has been endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). There are the usual calls for Medicare for all, abolish ICE, universal childcare and eldercare, and ending all wars with a bit of tax the rich thrown in.
Colorado Democrat Congressional candidate Melat Kiros calls to abolish ICE and give ALL criminal illegals citizenship:

Oliver Larkin is running in Florida's 25th congressional District. This district has been represented by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, but has been redrawn, so Larkin will run in the August primary against Rep. Jared Moskowitz, who currently represents Florida's 23rd district. Larkin lists all the favorites, again: Medicare for all, abolishing ICE, and something called "working class democracy," but there is no explanation of what that might be. The explanation might be the $25 an hour minimum wage proposal under the "economic justice" section of the website.
Instead of re-electing a diet Republican to Congress, how about we elect a community organizer who will actually represent your interests.

Francesca Hong is running for Governor of Wisconsin. Currently, Hong is coming in second in a straw poll taken at the state Democratic convention with 23 percent, four points behind Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez. It's a broken record for Hong: free child care, $20 an hour minimum wage, government grocery stores, and taxing the rich. Her "perfect world" would be a world without prisons.

Democratic Socialists are also coming for the nation's capital. Janeese Lewis-George will likely be the next mayor of Washington, D.C. While Washington, D.C. can be an expensive place to live and to visit, Lewis-George's plans are not going to fix that in the slightest. All of these candidates could easily use the same campaign website, just switch out the names. Childcare for all, housing for all, jobs for all. Sounds great until you run out of other people's money. But Janeese Lewis-George may have a bigger problem on her hands. President Trump has threatened to run Washington, D.C., "on a federal basis," if she is elected.
I've saved my favorite for last. Just when the good people of Missouri's Congressional District 1 thought they might be rid of her, she's baaack. Former Congresswoman Cori Bush is running to reclaim her seat from current Congressman Wesley Bell. Her days as a Ferguson agitator propelled her to Congress in 2020. Among the other favorite causes of her fellow Democratic Socialists, she vows to "defend democracy and fight fascism." Translation: abolish ICE. But Bush adds one other cause, "stand for justice in Palestine." Sorry, Cori, but in the words of Jerry Seinfeld, "it doesn't exist," and as a potential future constituent (God help me), it does nothing to help Missourians.
Finally, a quick note to Republicans: Pay attention. This is not a fluke, and it is not going away.
Congrats to Brad, Claire, and Darializa.

Yesterday, NYC rejected AIPAC, big real estate, and corporate PACs.
This August, St. Louis will do the same. https://t.co/DOABqPNz8V
Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
