The Latest Democrat Slap Fight Emerges From Kamala Harris Book—Gavin Newsom Hardest Hit

The disarray and possible collapse of the Democrat party continues to be fascinating to watch. It's as if they are trying to hasten the demise of the party on purpose. Aside from being on the opposite side of every issue from the majority of the American people, their circular firing squad and finger-pointing at each other for the disaster that was the 2024 election is in full swing. The latest shots are being fired from former Vice President Kamala Harris in her new book, "107 Days," which chronicles her run for the White House. She has tossed just about every prominent Democrat under the bus, and now she is adding to that list.

Harris' latest claim is that in the hours following Joe Biden's exit from the race, she tried to contact California Gov. Gavin Newsom. She claims that instead of calling her back immediately, she got a text message from Newsom that said, "Hiking. Will call back." She claims Newsom never returned her call. Newsom says he has not read the book and stated that, because of that, it is “hard to even opine about context and to even reflect on things in the book.”

Newsom's version of events goes like this:

I was up there hiking. There was an unknown number, checked the unknown number. Meanwhile, I was on text chains trying to get in touch with the Biden administration, because I was completely surprised that the president dropped out.

He added, with a bit of snark,

As you know, I was a surrogate, and I was out on the campaign trail, and so I was trying to figure out what just happened. Then, when I checked the unknown number, it was Kamala. I said "Hey, hiking, will call you back." At that exact same moment, I was working with my team to put out a statement to endorse her. I assume that’s in the book as well.

Newsom did, in fact, endorse Harris hours after Biden's exit from the race, but the book excerpt does not cite that. However, Newsom's story that he was hiking and out of reach is different from other accounts, when he said he was in the gym on a treadmill when news of Biden dropping out broke, and that he missed calls from both Harris and Biden.

The alleged back-and-forth between Harris and Newsom could make the 2028 Democratic primary even more interesting. While the odds of Democrats nominating a losing candidate like Kamala Harris, and one that lost so badly, in 2028 are remote, if she were the nominee, her choice of a running mate would be narrowed down to an unknown state representative or state senator, not necessarily even from California, because, in her zeal to lay blame for her nightmare of a campaign on anyone but herself, she has burned bridges with every other possible option.

Kamala Harris' list of those she blames for her 2024 loss rivals that of Hillary Clinton's long list of people and things she says are to blame for her own defeat in 2016. Besides Biden and Newsom, Harris has laid blame at the feet of Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, and Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ). Given the Democrats' non-existent bench, who's left?

You have to love it when Democrats are smacking each other around, especially these two. Both Buttigieg and Shapiro have responded to Harris' claims, and neither response has been glowing.

Keep it up, Dems. It will make the run-up to the 2026 midterms even more entertaining.

The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
