The "NO H8" crowd always bugged me. It was always a front to justify hate, just a specific brand of it. Moreover, that slogan never truly died out in the 2010s. It just evolved. It became "resist," and while many think it meant resisting the Trump administration, the thing being resisted was the concept of evil that Trump represented, including "hate."
While I was perusing X, someone dropped a poignant post that sparked a train of thought that truly boiled down the Left's barely disguised hate.
Christian Heiens posted a picture of a Kia Soul with a sticker on the back window that read "Resist Hate" on it, and said this:

Except you can’t actually “Resist” an abstract concept. You can only resist against other people. So what happens here is that the Liberal declares that they’re simply resisting a criminal and pathological illness that infects society and must be eradicated by any means necessary, when in reality all they’re doing is being a general nuisance to others around them because they had a Trump sign in their yard or they refused to include their pronouns in their work email. You may as well have a bumper sticker on your car that says “RESIST MY ENEMIES”.

This is a superb breakdown of the leftist mentality that effectively allows them to hate other people with a good conscience, and even inspires deadly violence that is ultimately pardoned because the one doing the killing was a victim of hate first.
Just boil your enemies down to an evil concept and identify them through that emotion alone. This way, no matter what they do, good or bad, it's all evil because it's done through, and for the purpose of, being hateful. Do that enough and suddenly you stop seeing people. Just hateful gremlins that must be resisted and fought at every turn. They should even be killed if someone's brave enough to do it.
What they don't see is that this is the very definition of hate. True hate requires dehumanization. It means seeing someone through a very narrow lens and wanting the worst for them through the definition that you yourself gave them. It means stripping them of everything that defines them as an individual.
It's basically doing the same thing Hitler did to the Jewish people in Nazi Germany.
This is why the Western Left is some of the most hateful people in the world. They hate at the behest of a fooled conscience and a brainwashed mind. They've reduced people who simply disagree with them politically to monsters only worthy of extermination, then walk around as if they're the good guys because they've convinced themselves they're fighting concepts, not humans.
They post stickers on their cars, put signs in their yards, and post things online that consistently highlight their virtue to reinforce their false sense of superiority. They harden their own hearts against their fellow man, then get so bad that when one of their opponents is assassinated or harmed in some way, they cheer. They become so gone that they lose all sense of nuance and cheer for villains no matter what heinous act they commit.

In fact, they'll actively protect them if possible.
Hatefulness is something the modern Left requires to be fully on board, but they've done a fantastic job of convincing themselves that their hate is good. Pure as the driven snow. Of course, anyone who hasn't been so brainwashed can see just how sinister and gross they've become.
