The Democrat Party has taken the votes of black Americans for granted for over half a century. But in 2024, that may be slowly changing. Joe Biden and the Democrats are not doing well among black voters. They, too, are feeling the effects of 40-year high inflation, soaring crime rates, and a dismal housing market. A substantial shift in black voters turning to the Republican Party would be cataclysmic for Democrats, and one of Joe Biden's chief cheerleaders is obviously getting nervous about it. The problem he says, is that nobody can "grasp" just how great Joe Biden is. Wait what?

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) has long been a champion of Joe Biden. It was Clyburn who almost single-handedly resurrected Biden's struggling 2020 presidential campaign in South Carolina by getting black voters behind Biden. But now, there is a problem, and James Clyburn knows what it is: Black voters are not getting the "right" information about Joe Biden. Clyburn, who is also the 2024 Biden Campaign Co-Chair, appeared on MSNBC Wednesday and made this unbelievable statement, that Biden, “has delivered for the American people in such a way that nobody seems to grasp.” As if that bit of incredulity was not enough, Clyburn continued, saying that Biden:
“can be a greater President when we get people to understand all of what he has done rather than to listen to all of the garbage, the disinformation that’s going on out there and look at the facts and stop listening to all of this tweeting and stuff that’s going on out there that’s not good for the American people.”
In other words, if Americans, especially black Americans, would just stop seeking out their own sources of information and just dutifully believe what Democrats tell them, everything would be okay. Democrats are convinced that their problem is messaging. It never occurs to them that, just maybe, it's the message. Clyburn went on to point out that the wealth gap between blacks and whites was decreasing. He also brought up $132 billion in student loan forgiveness and 20 million more people on Obamacare. As he talked about Americans getting "disinformation," he stated that the right person (Biden) was finally in office who took the COVID-19 virus seriously and repeated the lie that Donald Trump told Americans during the pandemic to inject themselves with bleach.

Clyburn and his fellow Democrats have good reason to worry. Fox News polls show that Joe Biden's support among black voters has dropped from 87 percent approval in 2021 to 62 percent in 2023. Donald Trump, should he be the GOP nominee, is on pace to win between 14 and 30 percent of the black vote in 2024, unheard of for a Republican candidate. Dorothy Harpe is a black Georgia Republican and recently told Fox News Channel's Lawrence Jones:
"Black voters realize now that Biden has failed this administration. The prices of gas and everything is so expensive, and I spoke with some of the Black voters yesterday, and they said that everything was better under the administration of Donald Trump. So they look forward to going back to the Republican Party and voting for Donald Trump because they say Biden has failed. They said Biden did not deliver on anything he promised, and they feel like President Trump... can relate to the Black community more than Biden."
The dirty little secret is that James Clyburn and the Democrats are worried that black voters are not buying what they are selling anymore. The "misinformation" Clyburn speaks of is really just freedom of speech. It is information that does not come from approved sources of information by the Democrat Party, in other words, mainstream media. Black voters also don't need to turn on the TV or the computer. They go to the grocery store, they go to fill up their gas tanks, and they see crime rising rapidly in their neighborhoods enough to know that Joe Biden is not so great. Dorothy Harpe and many other black voters are beginning to see that Joe Biden and the Democrats represent nothing but broken promises to their communities.
Democrats have been gaslighting the black community for 60 years. But according to James Clyburn, none of what black voters experience every day is true. That old playbook Democrats have used on black Americans for decades may finally have worn thin.
