The House of Representatives has passed the GOP plan on healthcare on Wednesday evening, by a vote of 216-211.
The House advanced a GOP health care bill Wednesday, despite a petition to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies. The bill passed with a vote of 213-209 after Speaker Mike Johnson said the House wouldn’t vote on an amendment to extend the subsidies. pic.twitter.com/pcKkSyZB19

The sole nay on the right side of the aisle was by Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4).
We'll likely have more to say going forward about the bill. But one thing the legislation does not include: any extensions of the Obamacare COVID-era subsidies so prized by the Democrats (and some Republicans), which expire on Dec. 31. (That's what the leftists claimed they were doing the kabuki theater with the Schumer Shutdown over, right?) Plus, it's something that the bill's sponsor, Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-1), previously mentioned, as we wrote.

Speaker Mike Johnson commented on the passage of the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, then made remarks after the win on what the bill will mean for Americans after the nightmare of Obamacare:
🚨 BREAKING: Speaker Johnson just CONFIRMED the GOP healthcare bill that passed tonight will DECREASE premiums by 11%, with NO ACA extensions for Big, Rich Insurance 🔥

"It gives persons more options, more flexibility in their health care and also it adds transparency."

Johnson stated what Conservatives have long known to be true, "The Democrats broke America's health care system, when they gave us the ACA." He quipped that it should have been called the "Unaffordable Care Act."
As he reminded everyone, "Fifteen years ago, they promised that premiums would come down that access would increase in quality of health care would increase. None of that happened because it's a flawed system."
He continued, "Their response right now is to subsidize and continue to shovel taxpayer dollars onto a broken system. We say enough is enough!"
"The Republican Party is the party that is bringing the ideas forward to fix this crisis and fix this problem for everyone," Johnson added, saying "it's a serious problem."
He outlined some of the parts of this GOP plan, in contrast to the Dems' ACA:
"We had the PBM, pharmacy benefit manager, transparency piece to it as well. Now contrast that with the Democrats, COVID era subsidy that they wanted to extend that would only impact 7% of Americans," he said.
"The bill we just passed impacts 100% of Americans. Their version would impact 7% of Americans and it would cost taxpayers $350 billion," the Speaker said, calling the passing of the healthcare bill "a big step."
He finished by expressing his conference's hope "that this could [be signed into] law quickly because it will have the desired effect. We hope the Senate can get this done in short order."
Rep. Miller-Meeks, celebrating the passage on her X account, points in that same direction, writing, "On to the Senate."
My Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act just PASSED the House!

This is a major victory for every American tired of paying more and getting less. We’re putting patients and doctors back in charge, not insurance companies.
