In a much-welcome surprise on a Friday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the termination of the Biden immigration policy known as CHNV parole, which flew in hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela for years, despite the potential risk to national security and dangers to the American people.
Fox News' Bill Melugin shared the news on Friday evening via his X account:
He wrote:
BREAKING: The Trump admin is revoking the legal status & work permits for the more than half a million migrants who flew into the U.S. via President Biden’s controversial CHNV migrant flights mass parole program. In a notice posted online, DHS says migrants who came in via these programs will need to self deport by late April, within 30 days of the policy change going onto the federal register on March 25th. DHS says they will seek to arrest and deport those who do not leave the country within that 30 day window.
RedState has extensively covered the Biden administration policy from 2022, which from the start has been mired in controversy, with several major hiccups even before the end of President Biden's tenure:

You might have already guessed this, but it appears that the clever inclusion of revoking work permits here might persuade many of the over 500,000 illegals and their families to quickly self-deport. But it's the second part that truly spells things out for them--the fact that DHS officials have started up a quickly expiring ticking clock for when they must find the exits.
The notice, which the DHS posted online, tells these illegal immigrants they need to self-deport before April. 25, or they will be removed by force. Here's how the department, now under the watchful eye of Secretary Kristi Noem, explained why the change is now necessary:
For the reasons discussed below, DHS has determined that it is now appropriate and necessary to terminate the CHNV parole programs. These programs do not serve a significant public benefit, are not necessary to reduce levels of illegal immigration, did not sufficiently mitigate the domestic effects of illegal immigration, are not serving their intended purposes, and are inconsistent with the Administration’s foreign policy goals.5 Regarding previous arguments or determinations that these programs were consistent with the requirement of “urgent humanitarian reasons” for granting parole, DHS believes that consideration of any urgent humanitarian reasons for granting parole is best addressed on a case-by-case basis consistent with the statute, and taking into consideration each alien’s specific circumstances. These reasons, independently and cumulatively, support termination of the CHNV parole programs.
Accordingly, the Secretary, in her discretion, is terminating the CHNV parole programs.

Anyone who's been following the story over the past few years knows how massive this move is--but it shouldn't come as any surprise.
Just about a month ago, DHS Sec. Noem didn't mince words when announcing the Trump administration's global ad campaign warning "criminal illegal aliens to not come to America," and for those already on our shores to depart immediately:
Expect the leftists to start moaning loudly any minute now about how racist they think this policy change meant to make Americans safer is.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
