Earlier, we got a heads up that the vote would happen, and the projected next steps, via Melanie Zanona, senior congressional reporter for PunchbowlNews.com:

The post reads:

On timing: House will vote on CR at 6p under suspension (2/3 needed for passage.)

If it fails, which is expected, it'll go to Rules Committee later 2night. This will be 1st hurdle.

If they can pass the rule, then Speaker will try to pass the CR via a rule tmrw. That will be a close vote.

Johnson said, in part:

We're going to do the right thing tonight.

The American Relief Act of 2024 will provide us temporary funding, to get us into the first part of next year.

...

We'll be able to make the key decisions about funding for the 2025 fiscal year. This [CR] will allow us to do that. In addition, we're going to take care of Americans who have suffered true, devastating emergences and disasters.

Zanona reported on what happens next:

WHERE WE’RE AT.

Johnson’s new CR, which was endorsed by Trump, just went down in flames on the floor.

Leadership not gonna bother trying to take it through rules. They’re gonna have to come up with a Plan C.

Government shuts down in 29 hours.

The vote came after the original deal on spending with Democrat votes promised was scrapped late Wednesday. As this is a breaking story, RedState will provide updates as they become available.
