One that has reemerged this week relates to the Biden State Department and Iran; specifically, Rob Malley, the former special envoy to Iran, who is under investigation by Congressional Republicans for what appear to be shady activities relating to how he handled sensitive classified documents. In the latest twist of the tale, on Thursday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed on a bipartisan vote a measure forbidding the State Department from either rehiring him as a diplomat or bringing him back as a consultant, as part of the appropriations bill set to be voted on Friday, according to reports:

House lawmakers voted on a bipartisan basis Thursday to move forward with a measure that would bar disgraced ex-Iran special envoy Rob Malley from receiving a State Department salary.
The lower chamber voted 218-188 to deny any funding for the State Department to pay for the reinstatement or re-employment of Malley, who is currently on leave and being investigated by the FBI for allegedly disclosing classified material.
Eleven Democrats joined 207 Republicans to vote in favor of the amendment, which was introduced by Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY).
Another 188 House Democrats opposed the measure, while 31 lawmakers did not vote.
The amendment is part of an appropriations bill — slated for final passage on Friday — that doles out more than $51 billion to fund the State Department and related programs.
In a related story you likely didn't hear much about from the legacy media, on Wednesday, the House voted on a similar move to pull Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas' salary, which you won't be surprised to hear was practically along party lines (193-173), with one Republican crossing the aisle. Since there's little stomach among Dems to holding Mayorkas responsible for, well, much of anything, the Senate will swiftly excise this bit during reconciliation.
I found this factoid amusing, while we're on the topic: Although it did not pass, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) cheekily put forward an amendment to leave Mayorkas with a symbolic paycheck ... of exactly one dollar.
