Ted Cruz Has a Blunt Message for Biden, the CDC About Independence Day and Masks

Americans’ thoughts have started to turn to summer family fun, now that the Fourth of July holiday and everything that goes with it like those much-delayed road trips and family reunion picnics are right around the corner. And one Texas senator refuses to be quiet about how he thinks Joe Biden and his allies in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are scheming to get in the way of that.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R) has been on a tear of late, as just Thursday, my colleague Nick Arama shared about the Texan lawmaker’s scalding of potential Biden ATF nominee, David Chipman, even getting something of a lukewarm assist from across the aisle, later on, from WV Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin.

He also took current administration officials to task over misleading remarks — as he put it “in testimony & in writing” — on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and Russia’s nefarious connections to it.

But even seven days back, RedState wrote about Cruz’s utter rebuke (which you need to see, if you missed it) of the dangerous — and frankly racist — Critical Race Theory. He didn’t hold back, calling it out as “bigoted” and “a lie,” adding that CRT “is every bit as racist as the Klansman in white sheets.”

Cruz isn’t the only one in the Conservative wing of the GOP providing pushback on the radical agenda of this White House. In fact, Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rick Scott (R-FL) have also been vocal on the federal mask mandate Team Biden imposed via executive fiat very early on. But, this week, as Breitbart News reported, on Wednesday, the Democrat majority in the Senate shut down the senators’ valiant attempt to get that executive mandate scrapped.

Though, as House Freedom Caucus member, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), pointed out in a tweet earlier this month — there is no law:

Now, Sen. Cruz has some equally blunt words for the Biden Administration and their buddies at the CDC about the ongoing, federal mask mandate that has no force of law in any way — and should not be allowed to mar Americans’ right to celebrate their God-given freedoms over the Independence Day holiday while traveling with their families and friends.

He wrote:

It’s long past time for Joe Biden and the CDC to follow the science and end their mask mandate for fully vaccinated individuals on public transportation.

We should be able to travel to celebrate Independence Day without having to follow an outdated and unnecessary mandate.
