The Reason Tiger Woods Will Get a Pass for His LA 'Collision' From California Authorities

On its face, the story first published this week by the Associated Press about the post mortem on golf icon Tiger Woods’ one-man car accident/crash in Los Angeles, California, does not appear to be as crucial or important as breaking news about a Nation of Islam member ramming his vehicle into a barrier in front of the entrance to the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C., killing an American in the process.

But I argue that it is. It may be even more important.

Author David Limbaugh, in a new opinion column at our sister publication, Townhall, titled “Americans Must Never Throw in the Towel,” spoke about the gathered forces allied against those of us who dare to cling to our guns, Bibles, and copies of the Constitution, during this holy week leading to the foot of the Cross.

He writes that: (emphasis mine)

[t]hese forces have monopolistic control over our cultural, academic and social media institutions, and competing views are not just censored but actively demonized. Their sociopolitical message is monolithic and permits no dissent. Our universities are indoctrination factories, and Hollywood is a propaganda machine for the leftist worldview. The social media oligarchy actively promotes that worldview and attempts to erase any competing ideas it perceives as a threat to its message.

David also points to our mandate as Americans and people of God to embrace action, not just speak the words, against the vicious, never-ending lies propagated by the media and the Left about our culture, and the fabric of our very lives:

We must embrace it because we are going to need other-worldly courage to face the whirlwind forces of evil and untruth that have possessed our culture; that have brainwashed half our nation; and that threaten to finally destroy America as we know and love it, and as it was founded — a land of unsurpassed religious and political liberty.

The details that law enforcement officials have released about Woods’ “car collision” are scarce and barely worth mentioning — lest readers nod off out of boredom. They also likely evinced a shrug from anyone who was intrigued enough to read beyond the headline. Here’s part of CNN’s joke of a ‘news’ story:

His Genesis SUV hit a “Welcome to Rolling Hills Estates” sign, crossed a center divider and traveled more than 150 feet across the shoulder of the road before coming to a stop on the driver’s side, according to a Los Angeles County affidavit.
“We have all the contents of the black box, we’ve got everything. It’s completed, signed, sealed, and delivered,” Villanueva said during a Facebook Live on Wednesday.
“However, we can’t release it without the permission of the people involved in the collision.”
Villanueva added that his department had reached out to Woods in order to waive some “privacy issues.”

What? Here are the somnolent and nonsensical details. No intoxication of Woods, no signs of mechanical failure in his SUV.

The AP wrote, in part, on Thursday:

The Los Angeles County sheriff said detectives have determined what caused Tiger Woods to crash his SUV last month in Southern California but declined Wednesday to release details, citing unspecified privacy concerns for the golf star.

Woods suffered serious injuries in the Feb. 23 crash when he struck a raised median around 7 a.m. in Rolling Hills Estates, just outside Los Angeles. The Genesis SUV he was driving crossed through two oncoming lanes and uprooted a tree on a downhill stretch that police said is known for wrecks. Woods is in Florida recovering from multiple surgeries.

And, oddly, the AP reported Wednesday that a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County district attorney told them there had been “no complaints against Woods.” Who was going to complain — the subdivision sign he crashed into?

What David was talking about in his piece, of course, (which you really should read in full) is what happens when people of the “wrong” kind of thinking and political views — for example, President Donald Trump and his family, Steve Bannon, or, more recently, Matt Gaetz — are alleged to have done something illegal. Trump, as you know, was (and still is) mercilessly prosecuted by congressional Democrats and U.S. attorneys general in deep-blue states like New York for over four years and counting.

But for Tiger Woods? Naw. He’s good. As my colleague Jennifer Oliver O’Connell said half-jokingly, “Tiger just can’t catch a break.”

Must be nice.
