Less than a week ago, musician Kanye West announced he would make a 2020 run for president of the United States, with the most recent coverage from my colleagues Mike Miller and Brandon Morse focusing on the massive headache the move could cause a Democrat Party struggling to get presumed nominee Joe Biden to go one day without suffering an embarrassing moment like this one:

On Thursday night, Pres. Trump weighed in on several hot topics in an exclusive interview on Fox News’ “Hannity,” including the surprise announcement from someone like Kanye, who once seemed to be one of his most staunch supporters. During the call-in spot, mainstream media mouthpieces of the Left, like Bloomberg News insisted on lobbing duds at Trump, like this on Twitter…

…and hacks like Media Matters tried their darndest – and failed – to land dishonest, out of context jabs:
The president of the United States saying that everyone that doesn't die from COVID "in most cases" automatically gets cured should be getting more attention. https://t.co/aIJVvCYJTH

As usual, Pres. Trump didn’t hesitate to call them out:
Pres. Trump: "I say [the media are] largely corrupt….There are some very fine people in the media, but most of them are corrupt." call-in interview on tonight's #hannity

Near the end of the nearly 40-minute interview, host Sean Hannity asked the President about Kanye entering the 2020 presidential race. He didn’t seem at all bothered.
“[He’s a] very good guy. He is a person that I get along with very well,” Trump said. “At the end I think he would support us over anyone else, we have to stop the radical left from taking over our country….
He is always going to be for us, and his wife is going to be for us.”
Trump makes a good point, especially by mentioning Kim Kardashian West. It was Kim, after all, who worked with the Trump administration to secure the commutation of Alice Marie Johnson’s life sentence in prison, as a part of the First Step Act. And as our sister site Townhall reported, she hasn’t been shy about praising the President for his administration’s strides on criminal justice reform — something former Vice President Joe Biden can’t say about his eight years in the White House or nearly 40 years in the U.S. Senate. It’s just part of an abysmal record Biden won’t be able to hide from as Election Day creeps closer.
