In this time of tumult, the President’s getting high fives from some unlikely places.
As I covered on March 17th, Beelzebub had to bundle up; an anchor on CNN praised Donald Trump.
From my article:
Incredibly, anchor Dana Bash gave a high-five to the Commander-in-Chief after dismissing criticism from neurosurgeon/reporter Snajay Gupta.
According to Dana, The Donald’s “tone” over the past couple days has been fantastic:
“If you look at the big picture, this was remarkable by the President of the United Sates. This is a nonpartisan, this is an important thing to note and to applaud, from an American standpoint, from a human standpoint.”
Satan get your snow shoes:
“[Trump] is being the kind of leader that people need, at least in tone, today and yesterday, in tone, that people need and want and yearn for in times of crises and uncertainty.”
On CNN
This was remarkable from the President of the United States…[President @realDonaldTrump] is being the kind of leader that people need.

Well, now there’s another anomaly: On Monday, a Hollywood actress threw Tinseltown a wicked curveball.
In a post to Twitter, Kirstie Alley thanked POTUS for his leadership amid a crisis:
Dear Mr. President,
I wanted to thank you for your recent decorum, sincerity, and care towards us. You’re taking charge and leading in a manner needed and wanted for this country. I highly commend you for your boundless energy and willingness to solve problems.
Thank you.
Dear Mr. President, @realDonaldTrump
I wanted to thank you for ur recent decorum, sincerity, & care towards us. You’re taking charge & leading in a manner needed & wanted for this country. I highly commend you for ur boundless energy & willingness to solve problems. Thank you— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) March 24, 2020
My eyebrows just hit my hairline.
Some loved the tweet. Others? Not so much.
One of those would be Howard Stern’s former “Stuttering John,” comedian and podcaster John Melendez.
He asked if Kirstie’d gone insane.
Her reply:
BlAh blAh blAh https://t.co/fgUATShNN8
— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) March 24, 2020
Because:
I compliment people when they do well … blah blah blah
— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) March 24, 2020
It’s not Kirstie’s first time to go to bat for Trump. In 2015, she liked the Big Guy:
Watching @realDonaldTrump on 60 minutes holding his own with Scott Pelley.Pelley acting like an antagonist asshat.I like Trump..fire at will
— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) September 28, 2015
And, reportedly, there was this:
Kirstie Alley on Trump: 'He's Waking This Country Up' | Fox Business @realDonaldTrump https://t.co/ngdGvgYqiK
— john (@redletter99) January 15, 2016
Later, she dropped out:
I love this..but I hate this election and I'm officially no longer endorsing either candidate..I'm voting for the woman with the ladder https://t.co/A0trijJvVK
— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) October 9, 2016
But apparently, the lady’s returned.
And don’t get it twisted — she knows what’s what when it comes to socialism:
PS all you Socialists can “school” me till your heads fall off.. I will never NEVER be agreeable to a Socialist government ..and your renaming it “democratic socialist” is as a dumb as “gentle nazi”…so save your ink and move along
— Kirstie Alley (@kirstiealley) December 17, 2019
Back to her letter to the President, here are a few tips of the hat she received from admiring Twitterers:
Love you Kirstie, don't be afraid to speak your mind!! @POTUS has done an a amazing job protecting the American People!!
— Kristal Flores (@Kristal2768) March 24, 2020
Thank you for such a nice thoughtful message for President Trump. Such a refreshing change from the likes of other celebrities. You are super cool @kirstiealley 🙌🏻🇺🇸❤️
— Mandy (@mandypatriot) March 24, 2020
Thank you, Kirstie!! When most celebrities are full of hatred 4 our President, it's nice 2 see some common sense coming from Hollywood. Don't think everyone should have my political views, but if Hollywood could voice their opinions W/OUT hatred, I would be more understanding.

Personally, I believe Kirstie’s right — I’ve been impressed with Trump’s apparent strength over COVID-19 and all it’s brought. In my view, he’s exhibited qualities of solid leadership.
But just in case you’re worried that Hollywood actresses are starting to favor the President, allow me to alleviate your concern:
Stop calling it the “Chinese Virus,” you racist piece of shit. https://t.co/RSlxtefLqi

Hope you feel better.
