Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s primary win in the14th district of New York was astounding. With no experience and a political plan similar to that of we-wish-we-had-toilet-paper Venezuela, she wasn’t exactly packing heat. Yet, she managed to defeat incumbent Joseph Crowley, who vastly outspent her.
As the 28-year-old prepares her Thank You notes, she should address one to left-wing billionaire George Soros.
According to The New York Times, Ocasio-Cortez triumphed due to her campaign’s internet exposure.
In an interview with the Soros-funded online Leftfest The Young Turks, she admitted that their coverage of her assisted her in the victory.
The Young Turks is part of a Soros-endowed network called The Media Consortium. It’s waaay left of center, comprised by Mother Jones, Democracy Now!, and dozens of other outlets.
In fact, it was members linked to George-sponsored digital media who asked Ocasio-Cortez to run for office in the first place. Cenk Uygur, the head of TYT, founded one of the two liberal groups that requested Ocasio-Cortez put her hat in the ring. Uygur’s ensemble — known as Justice Democrats — is dedicated to putting socialists like Sanders into Congress. Ocasio-Cortez’s association led to favorable coverage in front of The Media Consortium’s 300-million-strong audience.
Ocasio-Cortez’s opposition, incumbent Joseph Crowley, was expected by some to follow Nancy Pelosi as Democratic leader in the House.
Looks like that may be a no-go now.
In an interview with TYT on June 27th, Ocasio-Cortez expressed her gratitude to the show for being “no small part” of her win:
“I wouldn’t be running if it wasn’t for the support of Justice Democrats and (ultra-left-wing group) Brand New Congress. In fact it was, it was JD (Justice Democrats), and it was Brand New Congress that asked me to run in the first place.”
I think she should run to Venezuela, so she can understand what socialism is like.
