Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson goes all Bernie Sanders and gives Hillary Clinton a pass on her never-ending email scandal. Even though Hillary was interviewed by the F.B.I. for three and a half hours yesterday, Johnson told CNN’s Brianna Keilar in an interview aired Sunday on “State of the Union” that he doesn’t think Hillary is in legal jeopardy with the investigation into her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state:
I don’t think there’s been criminal intent on Hillary Clinton’s part, so I don’t see an indictment. I’m not a stone thrower when it comes to Hillary Clinton and her emails and her server.
Despite having said during at a CNN town hall hosted by Chris Cuomo that he and his running mate were going to stick to issues and engage in any sort of name-calling, he told Keilar that Donald Trump says “racist” things and should be disqualified from becoming president. During the CNN Town Hall Johnson said he doesn’t mind being a spoiler in the November election because he two-party system is a two-party dinosaur and that they’re about to come in contact with the comet here.
Johnson seems to prefer the Democrats to the GOP these days. In addition to giving Hillary a pass on her email scandal, he said that President Obama is “a good guy” and Hillary was “a wonderful public servant.”
