While law enforcement, the National Guard, and the Marines are working to contain the mess in the Los Angeles area and, now, in some other major cities, some are beginning to wonder who's bankrolling all this. The rebels are strangely well-equipped; many of them have what appear to be professionally printed signs and the like.
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) wants to know who's behind the rioters and rebels, and he appears to have a group in his sights. On Wednesday, Senator Hawley announced an investigation into the dealings of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA)
Who is funding the LA riots? This violence isn’t spontaneous. As chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime & Terrorism, I’m launching an investigation to find out - pic.twitter.com/B4qaN8qbZP

The Senator's letter to CHIRLA's Executive Director, Angelica Salas, begins:
I write in my capacity as Chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Crime and Counterterrorism regarding your organization's alleged role in financing and materially supporting the coordinated protests and riots that have engulfed Los Angeles in recent weeks. While peaceful protest is a cornerstone of American democracy, these demonstrations have escalated into lawless mob actions. They have obstructed federal law enforcement, endangered public safety, and disrupted the rule of law. This lawlessness is unacceptable. It must end.
The Senator then goes on to list a series of documents that CHIRLA should preserve and make ready for review by the Subcommittee.
RedState's own Jennifer Van Laar replied with a list of other nefarious things Angelica Salas is involved in:

While it remains to be seen what will come out of all this, establishing a trail of funding to groups that are arguably in rebellion against the United States could have far-reaching consequences.

The riots in Los Angeles, which as of this writing seem to have metastasized to Chicago and Seattle, among other places, are not just a bunch of hooligans skylarking. This is a well-funded, organized insurrection, and there is probably more than one group funding and organizing all this. The people behind it aren't out on the streets themselves, of course, like the "leaders" of Hamas in their Qatar penthouses, they provide funding and coordination from a safe distance for the useful idiots that are on the streets shouting and throwing rocks.
Establishing who is behind it all and, if the case can be made, prosecuting them, would have a chilling effect on any other left-wing group considering fomenting another rebellion. Then again, it may not; the left, in matters ranging from economics to rebellion, seems to have an unlimited capacity for thinking, like Bullwinkle pulling yet another rabbit out of the hat, that "...it will work this time."
It isn't working. And some of the organizers may well be dragged kicking and screaming into the light of day. But we can count on Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom to run interference for them, just as they have for the rioters and rebels.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
