Inevitable: Body Found on Sidewalk in Downtown Los Angeles

This is sad, but it was inevitable, and honestly, it's a bit surprising it hasn't happened before now; rebellion is a dangerous business. But here we are; a body has been found on a sidewalk in downtown Los Angeles. Details at the moment are sketchy, but here's what we know.

A death investigation is underway Tuesday after a man’s body was found on a sidewalk in an area of Downtown Los Angeles that has been the site of recent protests and lootings.

Police were called to the area of West 3rd Street and Broadway shortly after 1:30 a.m., where they found the unresponsive man, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to KTLA.

Video showed investigators at the scene standing next to the man, who was lying on his back wearing a red sweatshirt.

Note that the site had recently been the location of "protests and lootings." There are a few possibilities here, including that this unidentified man may have tried to prevent his business/place of employment from being looted, or that he was a looter who ran into the wrong business owner/employee. It may have been a conflict between two rioters, or it may have been an innocent bystander who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The spokesperson said the cause of death was under investigation.

The T-Mobile store at the intersection was one of several businesses that were looted the night before as immigration protests turned violent.

The spokesperson said it was unknown whether the man’s death was related to any protests or looting.

Someone should inform Mayor Bass and Congresswoman Waters that the protests turned violent, as this story states, because they do not seem to have assimilated that information.

There is the possibility, of course, that this unfortunate person's death had nothing to do with the riots and looting, but given the timing and location, I wouldn't bet a plugged nickel on that. And if the riots continue, it's only a matter of time before more bodies are "found." The big red line has been crossed. This situation has now turned a corner. Things are turning deadly, in the literal sense of the word. This will doubtless happen again, and again, until order is restored to Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

As we've continually pointed out, what's happening in Southern California right now is a rebellion. One man is dead, and who's to say when the next such incident will happen? The people involved in these riots are actual insurrectionists seeking to dismantle our republic. They are rebelling against the lawful, established authorities.

The question becomes this: When is the possible point at which regular Los Angelenos, the majority who aren't involved in this rebellion, will stand up and say, “You know what, that’s enough of that horse squeeze?" When is the possible point at which the city and state offices are swarmed, not by looters and rioters, but by ordinary citizens who just want life to return to normal?

Because the current situation simply can't continue.
