Didn't Kamala Harris say that Donald Trump was hiding from the media? Funny, I thought that was more of a Biden tactic — or rather, his handlers, and it's been some time since Joe Biden had much idea what was going on around him. But the Wall Street Journal has crunched the numbers, and it turns out that Donald Trump has not only done more media appearances than Kamala Harris, he's done a lot more.
Kamala Harris needs Black male voters to buy into her campaign. Donald Trump needs more support from women. Both are trying to sway Latino voters.
The candidates’ media blitz this week shows a homestretch dash to appeal to critical demographics in an age when podcasts and YouTube livestreams can be as influential as a “60 Minutes” or late-night interview.
Trump has done far more media appearances than his rival since becoming his party’s official nominee, frequently calling in to Fox News shows and granting interviews to largely conservative print journalists while appearing on a range of podcasts. Harris has sped up her cadence of appearances in recent weeks.
That's not a completely fair assessment of Trump's appearances. (Surprise, surprise.) He has appeared in front of several hostile interviewers, such as ABC senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott's questioning at the National Assoc. of Black Journalists, which Trump derided as "horribly rude" — but he gave intelligible answers, something Kamala Harris seems incapable of doing.

Further down, the WSJ details precisely how many media appearances each candidate has made since officially becoming the nominee, which, of course, happened at the conventions; granted, Trump has been officially a nominee for about a month longer than Harris, but that doesn't account for all this disparity:
- Legacy TV: Trump 28, Harris 12
- Radio: Trump 10, Harris 7
- Print: Trump 10, Harris 2
- Podcast: Trump 7, Harris 2
- Video: Trump 3, Harris 3
- X Spaces: Trump 1, Harris 0.
There's just no way anyone can claim that Trump's campaign is "keeping him hidden away," as when it comes to the number of media appearances across the board, Donald Trump is absolutely blowing Kamala Harris out of the water. And JD Vance has proved to be no slouch, either.

There are 18 days left in this election season. The Harris/Walz campaign seems to be lurching from weakness to failure to catastrophe. They are collapsing in the polls, they are collapsing in their media appearances — the internet is still lit up over Kamala Harris's train wreck interview with Fox News's Bret Baier — and they are collapsing in public appearances.
The fact is that the Democrats had a bad candidate in Joe Biden, and when they realized he was headed for a catastrophic loss, well, it was "buh-bye frying pan, hello fire." In the media circus, Trump/Vance are running rings around Harris/Walz, and why? Because, as JD Vance so aptly put it, they actually have thoughts in their heads they can talk about.
I'm not so sure you can say that about either of the Democrat candidates.
