I have to admit I did not know that anybody took David Hogg seriously and would follow any of his advice on anything. However, this is the United States of America in the year 2025, and there are people on David Hogg's side of the aisle who are truly confused about whether biological men can be women.
So here we are.
Now it seems that Democrat Representative Rasheeda Tlaib, who resides in the once great state of Michigan, has taken up Hogg's call to endorse and support a Democrat running against a sitting Democrat. The very Democrat who is in the district next to hers and also filed paperwork to impeach Donald Trump just a couple of weeks back, the one and only Rep. Shri Thanedar.
Detroit U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib is endorsing a state lawmaker who is trying to unseat U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar, a fellow Democrat who represents the district next door to hers in Congress.Tlaib on Monday said she is backing state Rep. Donavan McKinney’s bid for Congress in Michigan’s 13th District and also took a dig at the two-term Thanedar, saying his constituents deserve better representation. “Centering community not only means standing up to corporate donors and lobbyists, but also means fighting to address community needs through robust community services and responsive representation. This type of leadership is missing for residents in the 13th, and I know Donavan will bring it — I’ve already seen him do so as State Representative,” Tlaib said in a statement.“I’m proud to have Donavan’s back because I know he’ll always have Michiganders’ backs — and because I know when it comes to real representation, Michigan’s 13th district deserves better.”
You would think that Shri would be a hero, but instead, he gets the backhand from his congressional neighbor.
Tlaib just blew by this warning from the DNC chair, as we covered here a couple of weeks back:
As RedState's been covering, Hogg has been threatening to primary Democrats who don't get fully on board with this shift further to the left. He created a group called "Leaders We Deserve," to which he committed $20 million.
This has created some serious divisions within the party itself, with strategists like James Carville angrily lashing out at Hogg for splitting the Democrats in such a way and suggesting the "contemptible little twerp" should be sued.
But now it seems the Chair of the DNC is stepping in and laying down an ultimatum to Hogg: Cut it out, or get out.
According to Fox News, DNC Chair Ken Martin was largely complimentary of Hogg, but isn't going to just sit by and let him divide the party over his own personal beliefs:
"I have great respect for David Hogg. I think he's an amazing young leader who's done so much already to help move our movement forward," Martin said.
But the DNC chair added that while he understands what Hogg is trying to do, "I've said to him, if you want to challenge incumbents, you're more than free to do that, but just not as an officer of the DNC, because our job is to be neutral arbiters. We can't be both the referee and also the player at the same time."
"It's important for us to maintain the trust that we have built with Democratic voters and to keep our thumb off the scale as party officers," Martin added.

I opined on the impeachment threat back when President Trump visited Michigan on the 100-day mark of his return to the White House.
As I remarked...
The congressman has no shot of getting this taken up during this Congress, and even if he did, it would never pass the Senate with 67 votes. We went through this rigmarole during Trump's first term, and there's not a groundswell of support for bringing back somebody who entered this country illegally and was sent back to his home country.
That is pure fantasy, and it is fun to watch.
However, there is a part of this story that is much more serious.
With the president in town, the people who help organize this event, namely the Michigan GOP, should be taking a step back after this event and wondering what needs to be done to protect the gains that have been made in the first hundred days and whatever else will happen before the election in November 2026.
So far, the Michigan GOP is still in a rebuilding mode, which I and others who watch politics in this state acknowledge and are well aware of. The new Michigan GOP Chair Jim Runstead has a formidable job ahead of him and is going to need help from the Trump administration to help right the ship as soon as possible before the campaigns get rolling next year.

There is no chance of any impeachment making its way through the House of Representatives while the Republicans control that chamber. However, the warning of what could happen in the last two years of the Trump presidency is something that needs to be heeded, and the Republican majority in both the House and Senate needs to be protected — and, if possible, added onto.
So what that means is we should let the Democrats do the internal party fighting like this, and try not to do the same thing on the Republican side.
I know that's much easier said than done, but I have high hopes.
I would prefer the next election to be about the ideas of the Trump administration and those in Congress supporting it going up against the Democrats with their gender confusion and open border policies and all the crap that goes along with that.
However, if we can get a little bit of help from a good old-fashioned mud fight between Democrats to help win and preserve seats, far be it from me to interfere.
In fact, let me know how I can help you kids on the gender confusion side of the aisle go all Hogg Wild in the leadup to the 2026 primaries.
I’m happy to help.
