Sen. Fetterman Has Crude Response to JD Vance Plan to Decouple Ukraine-Israel Funding

Townhall Media

I'm sure you folks over 40 might recall a song called "Who Let The Dogs Out?" The title phrase is followed up by: "WHO, WHO, WHO, WHO, WHO?"

Well, I have a slightly updated version of that so that when the occasion arises that the junior senator from Pennsylvania has awoken from his clothing selection stupor and tweets something funny, we shall sing:

"WHO WOKE THE LURCH UP? WHO, WHO, WHO, WHO, WHO?"

I have a feeling it will be a hit, and I'm heading to the recording studio right after this article to lay down that track.

People who frequent RedState, of course, know a little bit about the fashion icon from the Keystone State, who is, of course, the one and only Senator John Fetterman.

Fetterman has made a name for himself for his unique style of decorum or lack thereof.

His debate style for his election last year against Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz could best be described as punch-drunk. His mannerisms since then could absolutely be described in the exact same style, yet I love watching him. The only way I can truly describe how I feel when watching John Fetterman, I guess, would be saying it is like watching "The Matrix" on a hit of acid and thinking to yourself the whole time, "No, this is actually normal and how life should be."

In case you do not recall Sen. Fetterman's antics, here is a reminder of one of his claims to fame recently provided by my colleague Bonchie: John Fetterman Takes a Shot at Ted Cruz Over Senate Dress Code and Misses the Point Completely.

From that article:

The recent controversy over the removal of the U.S. Senate's dress code for members continues to be an issue. The change was made to accommodate Sen. John Fetterman, who has indicated that he could slip back into clinical depression if he isn't allowed to wear a hoodie and gym shorts to work at what was once one of the world's most respected institutions.

Fetterman appeared on Joy Reid's insane asylum on Tuesday to double down, and in doing so he took a shot at Ted Cruz.

Let's start with Reid's silly framing. She brings up Sen. Kyrsten Sinema as some kind of proof that it's fine to have no standards at all in the Senate. As far as I'm aware, Sinema has never worn shorts and a tank top into the chamber. Rather, she's worn some colorful dresses. And you know what? Left-wingers have criticized her for it. Yet, here's Reid pretending like puffy sleeves on a formal outfit are the equivalent of dressing like a hobo.

Returning to Fetterman, I know he has trouble processing following the massive stroke that has left him unable to carry out his basic duties, but perhaps someone should introduce him to the concept of a false dichotomy. The choices are not to have a dress code or to deal with Bob Menendez's corruption. It's like saying that I can't drive a car because I need to eat an orange. The two are completely unrelated and have zero effect on each other.

At the end of the day, two problems remain. One, Fetterman's refusal to put in even the most basic effort testifies to his unfitness for office. If a person is so clinically depressed that they can't even put on a pair of pants, they should not be making decisions that affect hundreds of millions of Americans.

Isn't he a peach?

Now that we have that whole dress code thing behind us, Fetterman is focusing on the big issues. I'm not talking about him walking and chewing gum at the same time. Oh no, he's delving into one of his specialties: foreign policy.

When I say foreign, I mean it's like he's not from this country or even this planet.

So when Senator J.D. Vance from Ohio passed around a memo that called for Ukraine and Israel funding to be split into two separate bills to be voted, as mentioned here...

While Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is supportive of President Biden's $105 billion request to Congress to fund Israel and Ukraine, among other emergency items, some GOP lawmakers are not on board with coupling the two.

Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, joins the latest push from legislators who are skeptical of aid to Ukraine but fully support Israel's war against Islamic militant group Hamas.

Vance began circulating a memo among senators on Monday, titled, "Differentiating Ukraine and Israel."

...Senator YOU RANG from Pennsylvania had this snappy response on X (formerly known as the platform called Twitter)

He wants to "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" that.

Sacré bleu!

I imagine someone on the senator's staff is going to be in big trouble when they find out that Fetterman actually got a hold of the real phone that they use for statements for him and ditched the Fisher-Price one he usually has walking around the Capitol. Let me say this as a former caregiver: Whoever that person is should be given a second chance in another congressional office. It's hard doing that work 24/7 365.

Now I know that there are people who are going to be offended that the senator or somebody on the senator's staff allowed that tweet to fly. And I know I'm part of the generation that is partly to blame for the state that the country is in right now, but quite frankly, I'm all for elected officials stating what they believe unfettered.

Wait a minute, I just came up with the name of his podcast: "Fetterman Unfettered."

Have his people call my people, and I'll produce that puppy for damn near nothing.

As I was saying before I had a brainstorm of brilliance, I'm 100 percent for politicians not going through the PR spit-and-shine cycle in saying whatever it is on their mind, even if it's tactless and crude. I'm consistent about this even with part of the group called the Hamas Caucus and one of their members, Michigan Congressional Person Rashida Tlaib.

Let Rashida Tlaib Speak All She Wants With No Censure or Expulsion

From that post:

Tlaib and controversial statements go together like peanut butter and jelly or mold on cheese. You just can't separate those two — that is the nature of things, and you just need to accept it.

My colleague Sister Toldjah had this take when Tlaib ended her silence AFTER Hamas invaded Israel and threatened reprisal in Gaza: Rashida Tlaib Learns the Hard Way That Her Words and Actions Have Consequences.

But once she did begin speaking out on the attacks, she couldn't stop, and reminded people all over again why she has often been referred to as the leader of the House's "Hamas Caucus," taking a shameful blame-the-victim approach towards Israel and stating that the violence would not end for "as long as our country provides billions in unconditional funding to support the apartheid government."

On Wednesday, Tlaib took it a step further during an unhinged speech, threatening Joe Biden and inciting anti-Israel "protesters" who were steps away from the Capitol to take over parts of the Capitol complex, which led to some 300 arrests, including three for allegedly assaulting police officers.

After the damage was done, however, Tlaib learned the hard way that her words and actions and those of the terrorist government she supports have consequences.

A Palestinian conference that was scheduled to take place at the end of October in Houston which featured Tlaib and fellow antisemitic activist Linda Sarsour got canceled by the Hilton Hotel that was set to host it:

“Hilton Houston Post Oak by the Galleria serves as a place of public accommodation and does not endorse the positions of third-party groups or organizations. The safety and security of our Team Members and guests is our top priority,” a Hilton Houston Post Oak by the Galleria spokesperson said in a statement to CNN.

“Given escalating security concerns in the current environment, the hotel has determined that it cannot serve as the venue for this event because of the potential risks to our Team Members and guests. Our priority is and will remain the safety and security of everyone we welcome at our hotel,” the statement continued.

Let those who harbor ill will feel so comfortable that we don't have to wait for their actions to find out what it is truly in their heart but that they will tip us off with their words, and we can see if they back them up. I know and understand I'm in the minority on this, and I'm quite comfortable sitting with not too many other people in the room who hold this view.

Criticize people for their views on policy all you want, but never try to persuade them not to talk about what they actually feel.

In the meantime, I want to thank the good people from the state of Pennsylvania for electing such a gem to the United States Senate.

You fine folks out there make the Democrats in Michigan look damn near sane.
