Parent Reads a Book From His Kid's High School, and Even I'm Stunned by What He Reads

This story of a high school library is a preview of what I will be discussing on my show “Duke Over America,” heard on WAAM 1600 A.M. and 92.7 F.M. in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and the podcast posted here at RedState.

Well, I guess there is a first time for everything.

I just watched and listened to a video from a Board of Education meeting which oversees Hudson High School in Summit County, Ohio, that I can’t wrap my mind around. If this is the type of stuff that taxpayers across the country are funding, I now fully understand the parental uprising that is occurring across the fruited plain. I don’t have kids, so I have watched this from a distance for the past year with some interest but li’l knowledge.

Now, I need to clarify right off the bat, I am the farthest thing from a prude. I grew up watching roasts with Don Rickles, and the recently passed Norm Macdonald was one of my favorite comedians of all time. I’ve told my share of jokes and stories that have earned me the stink eye from many people.

Yet there is a time and place for everything, and the current arguments raging now about what schools should be teaching is a hot-button topic for a reason.

The schools are crossing a line.

My colleague Jeff Charles touched on how schools are crossing said lines with his post here last week Chicago Public Schools Push Transgender Ideology Behind Parents’ Backs. From his article…

Chicago Public Schools (CPS), the third-largest school district in the United States, has been instructing teachers to promote transgender ideology in their classrooms and to conceal children’s gender identities from their parents. A PowerPoint presentation given to teachers and faculty outlines how teachers are supposed to apply far-leftist ideas to their teaching and relationships with students.

According to CPS’ “Supporting Gender Diversity Toolkit,” the point of these guidelines is to “create an environment in which all students are able to identify and express their gender and achieve healthy development including social, emotional, and academic success.”

The district seeks to achieve this objective by having schools “affirming students’ gender identities and being flexible during gender transition processes.”

Honestly, what a time NOT to be in public schools.

So, the dad here, speaking before the Board of Education mentioned above HERE, is calm and rational while he goes over what his concerns are. He holds up blown-up pages from the books and never loses his cool over what is obviously a messed-up situation.

The male parental unit (I’m taking a leap of faith here, guessing he is fine with this) starts off by clarifying what he is there to alert the board to and then states this…

What I came here tonight was just simply to read a little bit, so I’m going to read you a little bit from what is accessible to my two boys in high school today.

He goes into reading from some pages of books accessible to his kids in the library at the school.

This part is about all I think I can print.

I can’t wait to put it on so you’ll fit so perfectly.

The rest that is on the video, I suggest you do give a listen to, but do it with earbuds or headphones on — and just prepare yourself to do that tilting of the head a dog does when it hears a sound we humans can’t.

As I said before, even if you’re a non-prude like me, most people that are rational and logical realize there is time and place for everything. The schools are now injecting themselves to the point that they determine time and place with everything, and that the people who actually created these human beings should just step aside and hush. All the while, the people who are the parents of these students are also paying the bill — but never mind that they should have any input into any of this.

There is no other way to describe this other than lunacy.

If there is a silver lining out to any of this, my hope is that people will start to pay more attention to what is going on locally. Most people don’t know who is on their school boards, let alone what they are providing in the curriculum for kids to be taught.

This will take decades to reverse, but if we don’t start now, it will never be done. Then in less than 20 years, this country will just have a bunch of mind-numbed, degenerate idiots roaming around talking about their feelings, rather than what they should have learned about reading, writing, and arithmetic in school.

That should scare the hell out of everybody.
