New York Bar Declares Itself Autonomous Zone Refuses to Close

Cranky New Yorkers fighting against other cranky Empire State dwellers with delusions of grandeur, just because they are elected officials are going to be the MUST SEE events of the dumpster fire called 2020.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a peaceful rebellion of telling Cuomo and De Blasio to stick their orders where the sun does not shine.

Mac’s Public House was ordered to shut down along with all other bars and restaurants in the “orange zone” in the Staten Island area and they just flat out refused. Instead, they declared themselves an Autonomous Zone copying what the yahoos in Seattle and Washington D.C. did to keep out cops and avoid fines.

From the New York Post

A Staten Island pub located in a coronavirus hot spot is stealing a page from Seattle’s anarchist cookbook, declaring itself an “autonomous zone,” free from the public-safety restrictions its owners say they will refuse to abide by.

“!ATTENTION! We hereby declare this establishment an !!!AUTONOMOUS ZONE!!!” read signs outside and around Mac’s Public House in Grant City, invoking a phrase more commonly associated with the monthlong occupation of Capitol Hill in the Emerald City by anti-cop radicals. “We refuse to abide by any rules and regulations put forth by the Mayor of NYC and Governor of NY State.”

The state had been warning for weeks that the South Shore was on the path to orange-zone status, based on the area’s consistent and surging coronavirus positivity rate, and on Monday, Gov. Cuomo made the call.

Genius.

They have already been visited by the Sheriff numerous times and told to shut down and the owners of Mac’s have refused which incurs a $1,000 fine each time. Late Friday, the State revoked their liquor license — co-owner of the establishment, Keith McAlarney, had a novel response to the Governor and Mayor of the city for attempting to do that.

“We’re not backing down. You think you scared me by . . . saying I don’t have a license now to serve liquor now? Well, guess what? That liquor license is on the wall. If that liquor license is gonna come off the wall, it’s gonna be done by Cuomo. You wanna come down here and pull that license off the wall?” McAlarney says in a YouTube video posted Friday, the same day the bar’s liquor license was yanked.

“De Bozo,” he continued, presumably referring to Mayor de Blasio, “you want to come down here and pull the license off the wall?” “Feel free to end up comin’ down, and we’ll end up having a conversation before you even think about stepping foot on my property. I will not back down.”

Now, we know that De Blasio has been going to the gym during the COVID to work out so maybe he is in shape to try and intimidate these fellas. Gov. ‘Nursing Home Debacle’ Cuomo, will just flap his gums but would never step foot in a place like this to try and tear down a license. We all know that he and his younger brother Fredo are not the types to take a stand without backup.

When you are screwing with people’s livelihoods as an elected official, you should be morally and ethically bound to show why you are doing it. Most of the Democrats who are Governors across the country have not though. They keep saying SCIENCE & DATA but refuse to show the science and data and the peasants have just about had enough. If they won’t show the very data they are basing these decisions on, then what else are these people hiding?

Thankfully, these bar owners in New York are willing to challenge the corrupt status quo and more will follow their lead.
