Nancy Pelosi just added a chapter to Donald Trump’s book from 1987 called “The Art Of The Deal” and she called it ” How We Do #$%^ In Washington D.C.”

In one of the biggest showdowns and the longest shutdown of the United States Federal Government, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer brought the President Of The United States to the Rose Garden, humbled, to announce a deal he could have done 34 days ago. A bill that funds the government for 3 weeks with no additional wall funding.

What was the point of all this?

Back in November Trump said this about a potential shutdown according to CNN

Trump told Politico in an interview published Wednesday that he believes he would win a political battle with Democrats over the issue.

“I will tell you, politically speaking, that issue is a total winner,” the President said, citing recent incidents at the border that he believes have motivated support for more security. He also said the $5 billion would only be for a physical barrier and that “the number is larger for border security.”

The President refused the 1.6 billion dollar compromise Republican and Democrat negotiators came up with for wall funding. Looking back now, why?

On Dec 20th Trump told the GOP leaders in the House of Repreatives ( which they controlled at the time) that passing a budget with no wall funding was not going to pass muster with him. Once again from CNN…

A holiday government shutdown appeared more likely on Thursday after President Donald Trump informed House Republicans he would refuse to accept a stop-gap measure — already passed by the Senate — that doesn’t include funds for his long-promised border wall.

What was once a deal to avoid a Christmas partial shutdown was torpedoed Thursday by conservatives and Trump, who unleashed fury at another agreement that stops short of providing the $5 billion the President has demanded for the border.

So what was the point of all this again?

I do believe that we have a HUGE problem at the border and we need a combination of barriers, people, electronic devices and whatever else the experts suggest. I’m not one of these people that thinks we skate for another 20 years with shoddy policies of people coming into this country undetected.

Yet, Trump dug himself in and once Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as Speaker she pretty much owned him on this. There are no two ways about this. President Trump could not even get back to the 1.6 billion dollars Dems originally agreed to back in Nov.

That is getting abused politically and I don’t see how this benefits the argument of securing the border or playing to Trump’s base. The die-hard Trump supporters just watched him get owned by Pelosi in the State of the Union showdown and now this in just 24 hours.

Also, you ticked off a ton of federal workers, their families and the country at large that has been wondering what in the hell is going on with these people with wet noodles for brains along the Potomac in D.C.

Trump has 3 weeks to try and correct this mess or his next book after one term in office will be ” How San Fran Nan Called My Bluff ” or  “The Art Of The Collapse”
