Not Her Fault

We are living in really weird times.

Probably by now you have read, watched the video, or just simply heard about the teens in a San Antonio Whataburger, who were approached by some dufus and assaulted for wearing a “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” hat.

According to one of the accounts of this story in USA Today

Police in San Antonio, Texas are investigating the alleged assault of a teen who was wearing one of the Make America Great Again hats that were an emblem for President Donald Trump’s White House victory.

After receiving a complaint about the incident in a local Whataburger eatery, police on Thursday said they are interviewing the victim and witnesses to determine if there’s probable cause to question the suspect, whom they declined to identify.

The investigation began after a cell phone video surfaced on Twitter showing 16-year-old Hunter Richard being verbally abused and assaulted for wearing one of the bright red Trump MAGA hats early Wednesday morning.

The video, which was recorded by a friend of Richard and quickly went viral in online social media, shows a bearded man throwing a drink in the teen victim’s face, and then yelling “you ain’t supporting s—t” as he left the eating establishment with the hat.

This was a horrible act of stupidity and cowardice. Who in their right mind thinks what this jackwagon did is ok? I’m sure there are some fringe people who don’t belong in polite society think that this was just the greatest.

Well, it’s not.

This man acted on his own, harassing kids, for what seems to be no other reason other than one of them was wearing a #MAGA hat.

Also, he is solely responsible for his actions.

Not Maxine Waters or any other leftist loon that encourages this type of despicable behavior.

As you recall, Maxine Waters late last month decided to go all verbal diarrhea after White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant. According to Fox News Maxine spoke to her zombie-like followers and said this…..

Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters on Saturday encouraged her supporters to fight back against the Trump administration amid backlash over the White House’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy — and said “the people” will “absolutely harass” Trump staffers.

Speaking on MSNBC, the California congresswoman said current administration officials who defend Trump “know what they’re doing is wrong” and said they soon won’t be able to peacefully appear in public without being harassed.

“They’re not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they’re not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they’re not going to be able to shop at a department store,” Waters said. “The people are going to turn on them, they’re going to protest, they’re going to absolutely harass them.”

Waters seemed adamant the protests would continue until cabinet members tell Trump, “No, I can’t hang with you. This is wrong, this is unconscionable.”

Waters told supporters at a rally in Los Angeles earlier Saturday that she wanted “history to record that we stood up that we pushed back that we fought that we did not consider ourselves victims of this president.”

She continued, “History will record that while he tried to step on all of us we kicked him in his rear and we stepped on him.”

History will also record that Maxine encouraging people to harass Americans for having a different political view than her is moronic. Yet even with how emotional and lacking-clear-thought this stance is, the guy who assaulted those kids in San Antonio is at fault, 100%. This is not a military situation where he was given an order from someone who outranked him and he had to follow for fear of retribution.

This clown took it upon himself to approach some kids, grab a hat and throw a drink at one of them. Luckily we have video and there are laws for assaulting people in all 50 states.

Every time we have the unfortunate events of a mass shooting, we hear that the gun is the problem. The gun manufacturers are to blame. The politicians did not do enough. Video games helped cause this. Yet in every one of these instances, the clear fact is this. Someone went and used a gun to kill other people.  That is what guns are made for. The responsibility of the action rests with the person who pulled the trigger.

Not the manufacturer.

Not elected officials.

Not video games.

Maxine Waters has been a joke on the American political scene for decades. She does not offer anything but adherence to every policy that over the past 50 years has been shown to not work. She is, in short, not worthy of the title of Congressperson, she now holds.

However, with all of her obvious flaws as a legislator, she is not responsible for the actions of some nut case in Texas because of her moronic rant.

We need to stand guard and protect the First Amendment as diligently as we do the Second. Linking the actions of someone to the words of someone else whom they don’t know is a very slippery slope and will weaken our right to free speech. We must resist the urge to do so.

Even if we are defending the right of people to say incredibly stupid things in public.
