When you see the words "Loudoun County Public Schools" in the news, you know your blood pressure is about to skyrocket. Such is the case with a new report out of Loudoun County ("LoCo" to locals, for obvious reasons) about three high school boys who are facing a Title IX investigation for complaining after a girl who thinks she's a boy used the boys' locker room and allegedly took a video.

It's understandable if you had to re-read the previous sentence; as with most things related to Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), the situation makes no sense at all to those with a shred of sanity. Yes, the boys who felt uncomfortable when a biological female used their locker room are the ones facing disciplinary action, not the girl who took a video while cosplaying as a boy. And now the boys are being accused of sexual harassment under Title IX.

The whole thing unfolded at Stone Bridge High School, which is located in Ashburn, Virginia. Stone Bridge High School previously made headlines back in 2021 after a male student sexually assaulted a female classmate in a school bathroom; it soon emerged that the same teen had assaulted another girl at his previous LCPS school (he wore a skirt to school that day and was allowed to use the girls' bathroom where the first assault took place), and the school system happily relocated him to Stone Bridge without alerting parents to the fact that a sexual predator was in class alongside their children.

This started a parent-led revolt, already percolating due to Critical Race Theory being pushed on students and draconian COVID lockdowns being in place, that led to Republican Glenn Youngkin's unlikely election as governor in November of 2021. Unfortunately, not much has changed with LCPS in the intervening years, and student safety is still not being prioritized.

The father of one of the Stone Bridge High School boys currently being accused of sexual harassment under Title IX explained what happened from his son's point of view:

“He was questioning why there was a female in the males' locker room,” the father said.

“And other boys were uncomfortable [with a female in the boys’ locker room],” he added. “There were other boys asking the same question. They [LCPS] created a very uncomfortable situation. They're young, they're 15 years old. They're expressing their opinions, and now they're being targeted for expressing those opinions.”

The girl apparently began using the boys' locker room back in March, and, after gym class one day, used her phone to take a video of the boy and his friends. The boys reportedly did not confront the girl, but did complain to their "peer group" that they were uncomfortable with her presence in their space. And while the girl's actions are against the school system's own policy on the use of phones while in school, it's the boys who are facing serious consequences.

Interestingly, LCPS itself is the subject of a Title IX investigation by the Trump administration over the school system's failure to comply with an executive order signed by President Trump defining the two sexes and protecting women in vulnerable places like bathrooms and locker rooms. Needless to say, boys should be afforded the same protections as girls.

Statement from Loudoun County Public Schools Regarding Misinformation Published by WJLA-TV and Attorney General Jason Miyares

The story regarding a situation between students at Stone Bridge High School that was published on 5/5/25 by WJLA contains false and misleading information presented in a biased manner from a single source.

To be absolutely clear: Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) would not investigate or discipline students based on their personal opinions, thoughts, or beliefs, provided those expressions do not violate policies prohibiting hate speech, discriminatory language, threats, or other forms of harmful or disruptive conduct. However, LCPS does investigate and may take disciplinary action when student behavior violates LCPS’ Student Rights & Responsibilities Handbook for Families and Student Code of Conduct. As WJLA is aware, because this matter could result in discipline, LCPS will not discuss the specifics of the incident publicly. Student privacy is a fundamental right protected by both policy and law, and LCPS is firmly committed to upholding that principle without exception. Our decision not to comment on the matter should not be taken as license for any news organization to determine what the facts are without verification.

It is also deeply disheartening to see an elected official rely solely on this media report to publicly criticize LCPS. LCPS will not engage in public discourse that misrepresents our policies or the facts of a student matter—especially when doing so compromises student privacy, safety, and dignity. LCPS policies are grounded in and guided by applicable state and federal law, including the legal precedent established by Grimm v. Gloucester County School Board in the Fourth Circuit, which is applicable case law and governs decisions made in Virginia. We trust the Attorney General is aware of these applicable laws.
