Where’s the Unified Republican Push-Back on Ukraine?

I don’t get what’s so difficult for the Republicans to put out a unified message that pushes back on the Democrat-media lies about the Ukraine scandal! They’re all over the map in making tepid responses to outlandish Democrat claims. The Democrats are using that fake scandal to nullify a presidential election and also turn America into a one-party totalitarian socialist/communist state using authoritarianism to control political speech and stifle opposing viewpoints. Meanwhile, the Republicans are playing tiddledywinks and complaining about the process questions without getting to the core of the false accusations by the leaker and others.

The Ukraine hoax has smoked out all of the Democrats because they are politically and legally vulnerable by past actions now coming to light. Burisma is just the tip of the iceberg; there is much more to be exposed as we will soon see. We see their spinning, lies, and outright panic daily as we listen to their public statements and cable news interviews. Lately, they are claiming that the whistleblower law protects the leaker’s claim to anonymity. Nothing could be further from the truth, as all the law does is provide protections from retribution, provided he qualifies as a whistleblower. And there is MUCH to doubt on that score, as the law applies to intelligence community whistleblowing and NOT foreign policy decision-making by POTUS.

When President Trump brought up the word “Crowdstrike” in that phone conversation with the Ukrainian president, that sent the entire Democrat hive into overdrive, forcing San Fran Nan to accelerate their bogus “impeachment inquiry” (she had been resisting doing that previously). Crowdstrike neatly ties together Russia Hoax #1 and Russia Hoax #2 (Ukraine). The Mueller special counsel investigation was predicated on Russian meddling in the 2016 election, as supposedly demonstrated by Crowdstrike’s report that it was “the Russians” who hacked into the DNC servers. One of Crowdstrike’s founders was the Ukrainian Dmitri Alperovich. Isn’t that quite the coincidence, given what we’ve learned about Clinton/DNC dirt-digging in Ukraine during the 2016 campaign? The Democrats would like everyone to forget about Seth Rich and Crowdstrike.

Getting back to the Democrats’ false narrative, they uniformly repeat the same lies: “It’s an abuse of power for a president to ask a foreign leader to investigate a political rival as part of a quid pro quo in order to receive US foreign aid.” They all propagate this same central lie at every opportunity! Whether an elected Democrat or media surrogate, the verbiage used to spread this lie is consistent if not word for word. They even continue the lie after it was thoroughly debunked by the President’s release of the phone transcript with Ukrainian President Zelensky because they know that just repeating the lie will convince people who don’t pay close attention that it’s true. This is the standard Joseph Goebbel’s propaganda tactic that the Democrats constantly use.

The Republican response should be very simple and direct:

  • The Democrats and their media are blatantly lying because the phone call transcript proves there was no quid pro quo.
  • In addition, there is a mutual legal assistance treaty signed by Clinton (of all people!) that obligates both countries to provide legal assistance for a host of criminal activities, and the President is on solid ground requesting Ukraine’s assistance in looking at 2016-related crimes!

Those two easy-to-understand statements should be endlessly repeated through an RNC-coordinated media campaign using elected Republicans and Republican consultants/allies in the media.

Let’s look at that mutual assistance treaty further. The treaty is entitled, “Treaty with Ukraine on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.” The treaty binds the two countries together and obligates them to collaborate in exchanging information on criminal activities in either country. This quote from the treaty’s letter of transmittal is apropos:

Mutual assistance available under the Treaty includes: taking of testimony or statements of persons; providing documents, records, and articles of evidence; serving documents; locating or identifying persons; transferring persons in custody for testimony or other purposes; executing requests for searches and seizures; assisting in proceedings related to restrain confiscation, forfeiture of assets, restitution, and collection of fines; and any other form of assistance not prohibited by the laws of the requested state.

Read the text of the treaty here – and then tell everyone you know!

Most of the public are clueless about that treaty! Have you heard a single Republican congressman or senator bring up that treaty during any of their cable news appearances? Why don’t Republicans inform Americans about that treaty and turn the Democrats’ false argument on its head by reminding everyone that the President wants to get to the bottom of the foreign influence in the 2016 election? The Democrats have been blathering for three years now that there was “foreign interference” in the 2016 election. Republicans should agree with them by investigating Ukraine’s influence on behalf of the Clinton campaign! Think that’s a conspiracy theory? Well, not so fast, as this Washington Times article from last month reports:

A nearly insignificant reference on the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council’s webpage, under the heading of Washington Watch No. 4, reads this way: “Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire — Kiev officials are scrambling to make amends with the president-elect after quietly working to boost Clinton.”

Hmm. Well that’s interesting.

Particularly since the Democrats have been busily working to impeach President Donald Trump over supposed nefarious Ukraine wheelings and dealings.

Particularly since a couple of Republican senators, as The Washington Times previously reported, have requested the Justice Department to investigate whether or not Ukrainian officials tried to undermine Trump’s presidential campaign — and asked for Attorney General William Barr to give them the answer by Oct. 14.

According to Politico — according to a Politico report from Jan. 11, 2017, that was linked on the USUBC’s page — the answer to that question is a clear-cut “yes.”

Read the rest here.

This unified Republican message that destroys the Democrat narrative should be repeated at every public opportunity by every elected Republican and their allies in the media. Stop letting the Democrats lie with impunity by calling them out as the liars they are! Furthermore, the Ukraine leaker (he’s NOT a whistleblower!) should be subpoenaed to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee to short-circuit the Democrats’ star chamber proceedings in Shifty Schiff’s House Intel Committee.

The Democrats lie when they say that the leaker is legally afforded anonymity under whistleblower laws. That’s a bald-faced lie. There is no provision for anonymity; the law provides protections from retribution. That’s it! Subpoena Eric Ciaramella, get him under oath, ask him who actually wrote the legal document that was submitted as his supposed whistleblower claim (it is filled with legalese not found in a typical whistleblower claim), inquire about his specific motivations, have him explain his past political associations with people in the Obama White House (Clapper, Rice, and most particularly Brennan), ask him who detailed him to the White House, get him to explain his multiple contacts with Democrat campaigns and Schiff and his staff, etc.

Cut the legs out from under the Democrats’ impeachment star chamber! Play offense for a change, not defense! There’s plenty to act upon to get ahead of the smears and lies. Republican voters and objective Americans demand some real action!

The end.
