Karen Bass Goes Eyes Wide Open With Latest Moves After ICE Saves Trafficked Children

In what can be described only as completely indefensible hysteria, Democrats were sent into orbit on Thursday after ICE agents raided a farm in Ventura County, California. Their narrative was simple: Fascist federal authorities were arresting poor, innocent crop pickers just trying to put food on the shelves for Americans. The real story turned out to be something much different, and far more disturbing.

Despite false claims from figures like California Gov. Gavin Newsom, it was later confirmed that ICE had raided a corporate-owned weed farm. Worse, they discovered at least nine trafficked children who were allegedly being used as illegal laborers. That's the kind of enforcement Democrats are demanding cease

On that front, instead of helping ICE save more kids and arrest gang members, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass went eyes wide open for all the wrong reasons on Friday. During a press conference, she announced the creation of a "cash assistance" program for illegal immigrants affected by ICE raids. She then followed that up by signing an executive order that forces all city departments to, in her words, "protect Angelenos, essentially from the federal government."

You can't translate that any other way than Bass wants ICE agents to be harmed. In the last few days, we've had multiple incidents of left-wing "protesters" trying to kill federal immigration authorities. Yet, Bass wants to doxx them for no other reason than to help the lunatics hunt them down. There's no other logical explanation for doing what she's doing in trying to unmask agents.

As for the "cash assistance" program, it's glaring evidence of where Bass' priorities are.

Mayor Karen Bass announced a plan Friday to provide direct cash assistance to people who have been affected by the Trump administration’s sweeping immigration raids.

The aid will be distributed using cash cards with a “couple hundred” dollars on them, which should be available in about a week, Bass said at a news conference.

“You have people who don’t want to leave their homes, who are not going to work, and they are in need of cash,” she said.

People who can't get building permits to rebuild their homes after they burned down in the Palisades fire, partially because of Democrat incompetence? They can't even get a mention from Bass, much less a new cash assistance program. But let ICE scoop up some human traffickers and MS-13 members, and suddenly Bass is wide awake, ready to do everything in her power to stop it from happening. To call that perverse is an understatement.

It is astonishing to me that this is even a contentious issue. No one is above the law. Do you know who assured me of that for years on end? Democrats. Now, suddenly, they've flipped that on its head and are doing whatever they can to keep dangerous and exploitative people on their streets. Bass is an absolute disaster as L.A. mayor, and you'd hope her residents would get tired of this at some point. You'd hope.
