One of the most intriguing parts of the whole coup attempt against President Trump engineered within the Obama Administration and possibly with the involvement of Barack Obama, himself, has been the mysterious ‘memo to self’ written by Susan Rice on the morning of Inauguration Day. As weeping minions were packing her boxes and Marine sentries waited outside the door to collect her access badge and, in a perfect world, defenestrate her, Susan Rice composed an email memo about a January 5 meeting held by Obama; FBI Director James Comey; Acting Attorney General Sally Yates; and Rice, who, at the time, was National Security Adviser. Biden was there also, loudly slurping pudding and looking for nubile hair to sniff. Why would she do that thing at that time? And why would she send the email to herself?
While the left is trying to claim this declassified email is a nothingburger, that isn’t the case. The memo shows that Obama, assisted by an allegedly non-political head of the FBI, discussed withholding information from the incoming administration because of alleged security concerns. Think about this for a moment. By January 5, Michael Flynn had already been cleared by a months long counterintelligence probe and he’d been determined to be truthful in his responses by the FBI agents who interviewed him. It foreshadows the political hit that removed Flynn from his position. The second interesting thing about the memo is that it memorializes Obama’s direction to ‘do it by the book.’
Very little of this story made any sense, particularly the motivation of Rice to compose this memo in the last minutes of the misrule of Barack Obama and send it to herself via her White House email address thereby ensuring it was permanently archived. Now it is a bit clearer.
#BREAKING: @AmbassadorRice’s team confirms to #FoxNews that she was directed by White House Counsel to write the Jan 20, 2017 memorandum documenting an Oval Office meeting in which President Obama & National Security officials discussed #MichaelFlynn.

The email to self stored on the White House server was not Rice’s idea. She was requested to do it by the White House Counsel Neil Eggleston. This is how Rice’s mouthpiece essentially blames it all on an internet video:
“Given the importance and sensitivity of the subject matter, and upon the advice of the White House Counsel’s Office, Ambassador Rice created a permanent record of the discussion,” Rice’s attorney Kathryn Ruemmler wrote to the senators in 2018. “Ambassador Rice memorialized the discussion on January 20, because that was the first opportunity she had to do so, given the particularly intense responsibilities of the National Security Advisor during the remaining days of the administration and transition.”
So it was so damned important that the White House Counsel hunted Rice down just a short period of time before she left government to have her write her memories about a meeting two weeks earlier. Why did the White House Counsel think it was so important.
My contention is that by this time Obama was getting cold feet about what he’d been a party to. This memo was a way of sanitizing the meeting so that it seemed like everyone only had the interests of the nation at heart and the icing on the cake was her remembering that Obama had told everyone to be sure to do it by the book. An odd admonition considering the acting Attorney General and FBI director were in the meeting.
This memo was not Rice’s idea. It was a deliberate cover-your-ass activity designed to give Obama plausible deniability should this episode ever blow up in everyone’s face. The White House Counsel dictated the memo to her. She was chose because she had nothing to do with any of the plans afoot targeting Trump and his transition team so she appears to be the most disinterested participant.
