If there is a list somewhere of reporters who really need their ass whipped and then be told to Learn to Code, The Daily Beast’s Will Sommer and Zach Everson are near the top of the list. Yesterday, they used the platform of The Daily Beast to try to humiliate and ultimately get fired from her job a pastry chef at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. I’m not linking to the story because screw them.

Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort appears to employ a pastry chef who frequently posts online about her belief in the pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy theory.

Elizabeth Alfieri, a Florida pastry chef, has posted dozens of times on Instagram using QAnon hashtags and slogans, often using pictures taken at Mar-a-Lago itself. Alfieri’s Instagram posts were first reported by 1100 Pennsylvania, a newsletter that reports on Trump’s properties.

On Christmas, for example, Alfieri posted an Instagram picture of a gingerbread house in what appears to be a Mar-a-Lago ballroom. The side of the gingerbread house is emblazoned with a “Q” made of blue frosting and dusted with glitter.

It wasn’t clear whether Alfieri herself had added the frosted “Q.”

“Merry Christmas from the Jewel of Palm Beach,” Alfieri wrote, adding a “#QAnon” hashtag and the acronym “WWG1WGA,” a reference to the QAnon slogan “Where we go one, we go all.”

This is just vicious, contemptible douchebaggery. It has no purpose at all other than trying to use a failing media platform to attack a person with no power and, until yesterday, no public persona. What kind of a sh***y excuse for a human being does this kind of thing? Did they run out of flies to pull the wings off of? Giving this collection of numbnuts access to the internet, no adult supervision, and telling them to pretend they are reporters is like giving a dim three-year-old a five-gallon can of gas and a book of matches.

Unfortunately, this is becoming more and more common as the marginalized left-wing media, suffering from hemorrhaging balance sheets and a dearth of talent, lash out an anyone they perceive to be opposed to their worldview. It is the mentality of these two that led to the feeding frenzy on a bunch of Catholic high school kids who were just minding their own business…

This is what has convinced me that trying to work across the aisle with these people is a chump’s game. This is what made me realize that no matter what Donald Trump and anyone in his administration does, it will never compare to a couple of lackwits deciding to target a person minding their own business for personal destruction.

Shortly after the 2016 election, “Warden” blogging at Ace of Spades, had this to say:

It’s this that sent me to a place from which I’ll never return. I literally don’t care what Donald Trump does because nothing he can do is worse than what they’ve already done.

Donald Trump isn’t the bully; he only insults and abuses people in power who have attacked him. They’re the fucking bullies. The left, with their smears, their witch hunts, their slanders, their insults, their riots, their violence, and their weaponizing of the federal bureaucracy.

There aren’t any rules anymore because the left only applies them one way. And in doing so, they’ve left what once was a civil compact between the two parties in smoldering ruins.

I have no personal investment in Donald Trump. He is a tool to punish the left and roll back their ill-gotten gains, no more and no less. If he succeeds even partially in those two things, then I’ll consider his election a win.

Further, I no longer have any investment in any particular political values, save one: The rules created by the left will be applied to the left as equally and punitively as they have applied them to the right. And when they beg for mercy, I’ll begin to reconsider. Or maybe not. Because fuck these people.

This new philosophy has freed me of more emotional angst that I can describe. Literally nothing the left says or does matters to me anymore. I don’t care about their tantrums. I don’t care about their accusations. I don’t care if they say Trump is lying. I don’t care if Trump is lying.

They created this Frankenstein. They own it. I am free of all obligation. I will never play defense again. I will attack, attack, attack, attack using their own tactics against them until they learn their lesson.

What I will not do is let them play my values against me ever again. I don’t need to prove that I’m better than them. I already know it.

If these people get fired, I will be cheering. If they get doxxed and angry 4Chan-ers show up on their lawns, I’ll spring for the pizza to keep those folks on site.
