West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, keenly aware of being a Democrat in a state that Donald Trump carried with 2/3 of the vote, has said he will vote to confirm Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.
After meeting with Mike Pompeo, discussing his foreign policy perspectives, & considering his distinguished time as CIA Director & his exemplary career in public service, I will vote to confirm Mike Pompeo to be our next Secretary of State.

This is the second Democrat to break ranks on Pompeo, North Dakota’s Heitkamp was the first. Odds are that Missouri’s McCaskill and Alabama’s Jones will follow suit. By my count, regardless of who else falls in line, this puts Pompeo over the top.
