The one thing this campaign season has had in ample supply is clowns. They may not have been particularly funny or even amusing, in fact, some of them have been horrifying, but clowns we had in abundance.
Chief among them is Ben Carson. Who can forget his brilliant and heartwarming defense of Corey Lewandowski? His exegesis in the Second Amendment? His explanation of why experts are really over rated? His leadership in helping Trump choose a vice president?
Now Carson has waded into the medical records fray.
Carson, a retired neurosurgeon and former Republican presidential candidate, said both Clinton and GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump should detail their medical histories due to their age.
“I think that somebody who is running for president of the United States, particularly if they’re elderly, and that would include both candidates, should disclose their full medical history,” said Carson, who backs Trump.“It’s common sense,” Carson added. “As people get older, things begin to happen to them. [Being president] is a very stressful job. It is a 24/7 job, and every candidate should be held to the same standard.”
Asked if Donald Trump should be held to the same standard, Carson said, “Absolutely.”
This is how you play surrogate, folks. You pick up an attack line that the opponent is using on your guy and you use it on your guy, too.
