Moore to the Point - More or Less

We live in polarizing times – no denying it. I used to find the “politics as team sport” analogy both fitting and mildly humorous. Red Team vs. Blue Team – good-natured ribbing, maybe even some trash talk on the field, but sport; healthy competition; fight tough but go have a beer at the end of it all.

Not anymore. It’s bare-knuckle brawling if not fight to the death. Puts me in an interesting quandary as one who used to identify as Blue Team but now plays for the Red. I try to use that experience to help keep perspective on key issues and not get sucked into placing party over principle or team over country.

So, it’s interesting to me as a “former” liberal to note which team – which contingent – presently fights for more of the freedoms enshrined in our Bill of Rights and which fights against them. Consider, in 2023, who’s fighting for more free speech, more 2A protections, more transparency, more information, and for less government involvement.

And who are the voices clamoring for less speech, less transparency, less freedom?

I’ve remarked before: We are in the midst of a seismic ideological shift. I’m not as concerned with the team colors anymore. But I most certainly am aware of who is in the camp of more liberty versus less.
