Moore to the Point - Joe of All Trades

Note: This “Moore to the Point” commentary aired on NewsTalkSTL on Wednesday, October 5th. Audio included below.

Say what you want about Joe Biden, but he’s a versatile guy – a real Renaissance Man. You may not have heard, but the kid from Scranton didn’t just develop gills to deal with those airborne oil slicks that used to beset his mom’s windshield and later take down notorious bad dude, Corn Pop. He also was “sort of raised in the Puerto Rican community.” That is, when he wasn’t busy attending shul and helping thwart the gangs in Wilmingtonyou think I’m kidding.

All of which helped prepare him for his varied career choices – from driving a school bus and an 18-wheeler, to working in the coal mines, to practicing law, right on up to the U.S. Senate – all by the age of 29. Hard to know how he found the time to march in the Civil Rights Movementno joke.

And let’s not forget that he’s a world traveler, having ridden a million-and-a-half miles on Amtrak and gone 17,000 miles with Xi Jinping through the foothills of the Himalayas. Plus, he’ll have you know, he got shot at in Iraq and arrested in South Africa, while trying to see Nelson Mandela — for real.

What a storied life our President has lived. And I do mean…storied. ‘Course, you know what they say about a Jack – or Joe — of all trades…
