Trump's Campaign Schedule for the Last Four Days Is a Whirlwind

President Donald J. Trump has been called many things during his time in public life. Since he announced his candidacy in 2015, I don’t believe it’s a stretch to say that most of those things he’s been called aren’t particularly flattering. But one term I’m fairly certain hasn’t been used to describe him (and couldn’t be with a straight face): slacker.

The man can hustle. And at a pretty impressive clip for a 74-year-old, particularly one who was being treated in the hospital four weeks ago for coronavirus.

With four days left before Election Day, he’s got the pedal to the metal, with sixteen events planned:

  1. Friday, October 30, 2020, at 12:00 pm Eastern – Waterford Township, MI
  2. Friday, October 30, 2020, at 1:30 pm Central – Green Bay, WI (note which famous QB just endorsed him earlier today)
  3. Friday, October 30, 2020, at 4:00 pm Central – Rochester, MN
  4. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 1:30 pm Eastern – Reading, PA
  5. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 4:30 pm Eastern – Butler, PA
  6. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 7:00 pm Eastern – Montoursville, PA
  7. Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 10:00 am Eastern – Macomb County, MI
  8. Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 12:00 pm Central – Dubuque, IA
  9. Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 4:30 pm Eastern – Hickory, NC
  10. Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 7:30 pm Eastern – Rome, GA
  11. Sunday, November 1, 2020, at 10:30 pm Eastern – Opa-locka, FL (fifth stop of the day)
  12. Monday, November 2, 2020, at 10:30 am Eastern – Fayetteville, NC
  13. Monday, November 2, 2020, at 1:00 pm Eastern – Scranton, PA (hi, Joe!)
  14. Monday, November 2, 2020, at 4:00 pm Eastern – Traverse City, MI
  15. Monday, November 2, 2020, at 6:00 pm Central – Kenosha, WI
  16. Monday, November 2, 2020, at 9:30 pm Eastern – Grand Rapids, MI

That’s quite the tour. And note the locations – Michigan (four stops), Wisconsin (two stops), Minnesota (one stop), Pennsylvania (four stops), Iowa (one stop), North Carolina (two stops), Georgia (one stop), Florida (one stop). Think he’s zeroing in on Pennsylvania and Michigan?

In contrast, here is the announced schedule for Joe Biden:

  1. Friday, October 30, 2020, at 3:45 pm Central – St. Paul, MN*
  2. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 1:45 pm – Flint, MI
  3. Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 5:30 pm – Detroit, MI
  4. Monday, November 2, 2020 – Pennsylvania (multiple events, no details provided yet)

*There’s an event today for Biden today in Des Moines, Iowa, too. Even allowing for an additional 2-3 events that have not yet been formally announced by the Biden campaign, Trump is significantly outpacing Biden.

Obviously, Joe’s eyeing Michigan and Pennsylvania, too. Safe bet both campaigns think those two states may be the key. Unfortunately, we may not know their final vote totals for days — possibly weeks — after the election. Particularly since Pennsylvania’s ballots may be received up to three days after Election Day pursuant to the latest in the legal battle there.

The saving grace in the above — if things drag out, as many fear they may, it likely won’t be in Florida. (Hard to believe the Saga of the Pregnant Chad was 20 years ago!)

It’s hard not to notice that President Trump is following that infamous mantra: Always. Be. Closing. (Who was it that said that again? #IronyAlert)
