It's not uncommon to see posts on social media, whether they be on Facebook, X, Instagram, etc., where someone shares a photo or message about an ordinary or Day in the Life (and sometimes not-so-great) experience, while adding the hashtag "GlamLife" at the end of it.
I've seen them from mothers whose young children smeared grape juice all over the carpet, and from people who got to work and realized they had worn two different shoes. I've also seen them from folks who did a full grocery run, only to discover when they got home that the carton of eggs they bought had one that broke/got crushed and leaked on the back seat of their car, causing a stinky, sticky mess.
Before we get started on my latest "glam life" update (grab your beverage and snack of choice, if you haven't already!), here's a small sampling of the many I've posted over the years:
No big deal. Realized earlier when I was out to eat breakfast with mom that I wore my shirt inside out. #GlamLife

On Sunday, I was busy catching up on "wimmin's work," doing things like cooking lunch, washing the dishes, and doing laundry, etc. This is a pretty standard routine for me on Sundays, something I've done many times over the years, including when I lived on my own.
This one wasn't really much different, except I had a few more dishes to wash than normal, as I had done some reorganizing in the kitchen and found several things I forgot I had that I thought we should start using again. So I put them with the pile next to the sink, got them washed, dried, and put away.
Next up were certain clothing items that are recommended to be washed by hand and air-dried rather than being put in the washer and dryer. In addition to the normal few items I normally do this with, I had bought some new items online that came in, but which also needed washing first before I wore them (I do this with most clothes I buy, outside of socks). So I had to get three containers to put the multiple items in, fill them with water and gentle cleaner, soak them for fifteen minutes after lightly handwashing, then hand rinse them and put them to the side to air-dry overnight.
Between the dishes and the handwashing of the delicates, it probably took me around 30 minutes in front of the kitchen sink, with me standing in the same position for maybe 10 minutes or so at least twice during the whole process.
So I got done, made myself something to drink, and sat down in the recliner to relax that night.
15 minutes later, my right knee started throbbing as though I had stepped wrong. I thought, "Well, maybe it's because I stood in the same position for x amount of time, and the pain will go away in a few minutes."
Nope.
I went to bed with it like that, and it was to the point where I thought I might have to go to the doctor the next morning if it kept up. I thought to myself, "Did I just injure myself just by standing in the kitchen??"
Fortunately, it had eased off once I got up and around Monday morning, but I have to give full credit to Advil, Biofreeze, and the Blue-Emu cream (my dad, who swore by Tiger Balm, would have been so proud), which got this middle-aged gal through the rough patch of a pretty painful but thankfully brief (in the scheme of things) experience.
Later, I texted my sisters, and we joked - again - about how we know we're "getting old" (which is better than the alternative, to be sure!) because one of the first things we typically mention to each other when we talk now is our various aches and pains.
And how was YOUR day?
