'Democratic Brand Is So Bad': Panic Among Capitol Hill Dems After Release of Devastating New Poll

There's been a lot of talk in recent weeks about the freefall the Democrat Party is in, with even some former and current political operatives going on record acknowledging how dire the situation is for them as the 2026 midterms loom.

For instance, "Morning Meeting" co-host Dan Turrentine, who was the national financial director for then-Sen. Hillary Clinton and who also held a similar role at the DNC in the early 2000s, went off on Democrats in a recent Fox News interview, stating that "We have no agenda whatsoever. If we were to get power, I couldn't tell you what we'd want to do."

And embattled current DNC Chairman Ken Martin confessed in a Fox Digital interview that the party has "hit rock bottom." But "there's only one direction to go, and that's up, and that's what we're doing," Martin also proclaimed.

Martin, however, did not explain how Democrats were supposedly going "up," and that's probably because he can't, as fresh polling from the Wall Street Journal shows that Democrats have sunk to near-historic lows:

Perhaps most interestingly, even though the same poll showed some voter dissatisfaction with Republicans, they were still viewed as the party that can better tackle the issues Americans face:

On the whole, voters disapprove of the president’s handling of the economy, inflation, tariffs and foreign policy. And yet in each case, the new Journal poll found, voters nonetheless say they trust Republicans rather than Democrats to handle those same issues in Congress.

In some cases, the disparities are striking. Disapproval of Trump’s handling of inflation outweighs approval by 11 points, and yet the GOP is trusted more than Democrats to handle inflation by 10 points. By 17 points, voters disapprove rather than approve of Trump’s handling of tariffs, and yet Republicans are trusted more than Democrats on the issue by 7 points.

The money quote came from Democrat pollster John Anzalone, who observed in the WSJ article that the party's "brand is so bad that they don’t have the credibility to be a critic of Trump or the Republican Party."

Anzalone went on to say that "Until they reconnect with real voters and working people on who they’re for and what their economic message is, they’re going to have problems."

Except "reconnecting with real voters" for Democrats seems to be a thing of the past, as they are getting their current "who they're for" message out to folks. But understandably, it's not resonating.

And that is unlikely to change anytime soon, as Democrats seem hellbent on clinging to the sinking ship of failed ideas, bless their hearts.

Editor’s Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
