Amid all the chatter and debate about the new Biden exposé "Original Sin," one of the authors, CNN's Jake Tapper, has come under fire for his all-too-convenient 180 on the issue of Joe Biden's decline.
One interview that keeps resurfacing for Tapper was a contentious one he did with Lara Lea Trump in October 2020, just weeks ahead of the November presidential election between then-Democrat presidential nominee Biden and then-incumbent President Donald Trump.
In it, Tapper ridiculed Trump for the crime of pointing out that Biden seemed on the decline and unfit to lead the nation for four years, and accused her of making fun of Biden's stutter, even though that wasn't the case at all.

Here's Jake Tapper incensed over Joe Biden's "stutter" and outraged over claims of Biden's cognitive decline.

Now he's cashing in on a book about Biden's cognitive decline and media cover up. There is no bottom for these people.

A week ago, Tapper appeared on independent journalist Megyn Kelly's podcast to discuss the book, his denialism on Biden's decline, and to debate his role in the media's part of the cover-up. During what at times were heated exchanges, Kelly asked him about the Lara Lea Trump interview and whether he had apologized directly to her. He said he had but didn't want to get into details of a private conversation, and essentially noted that she had accepted it graciously.
Trump appeared on Laura Ingraham's Fox News program Tuesday night, where she shared her thoughts on the Tapper apology and how it simply did not meet the moment:
"The damage is done. We were so close to something dangerous happening in this country. Look at what actually happened, look at the millions of illegal immigrants able to pour in, people are questioning now who was actually in charge of this country - I guess whoever was in charge of the autopen.
We really have to think about what would have happened if Joe Biden would have been elected. These people would have swept his condition under the rug even more. And Jake Tapper saying that this was like a Watergate-level type of situation, now that he played a role in it - it feels a little bit too late to me. I do appreciate that he did keep his word, though, and come out and say that I was right."

🚨 LARA TRUMP: Jake Tapper called me about two months ago, actually. He said I have this book coming out. And I know everybody is saying that I should apologize to you.

I plan, whenever the book comes out to go on TV and I will say you were right and I was wrong. And I guess to… pic.twitter.com/mk3byI20tB
She's right on the money here. Jake Tapper played a starring role in helping try to hide Biden's condition from the public, even trashing some of the very reporters who helped expose it ahead of the infamous June 2024 debate, the same reporters whom he now praises.
As many of us have said, though the revelations from the book are worthy of discussion and amplification, Tapper deserves the ridicule he's getting because ultimately, people see right through it and to the real agenda: which is to pave the way for aggressively questioning Donald Trump's physical and mental health in ways they refused to do when it came to Joe Biden.
