The writing is on the wall for Democrats as far as the 2022 midterm elections are concerned, which is one big reason why the Biden White House has been spinning fast and furious about the direction of the economy, specifically as it relates to rising inflation and the recession – two words they’ve been busy bees in trying to redefine in recent weeks.
To further prove the point, check out the below exchanges between Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum and Jared Bernstein, an economic adviser to President Biden who is notorious for playing the “it’s not his fault” card when Biden’s back is against the wall.
I haven’t seen the full clip, but apparently, MacCallum had talked to a panel of voters on Tuesday either prior to or during her full interview with Bernstein, and one woman – evidently the owner of a towing company – talked about the high cost of diesel fuel and how it had only gone down a few pennies, and was still negatively impacting her business.
Berstein first tried to deflect by talking about how much gas has come down since July, but MacCallum wasn’t having it, shutting him down by inquiring about the price of diesel fuel, which has not gone down very much and which is costing truckers and businesses like towing companies a lot of money.
When Berstein tried to claim diesel had come down “a lot” but couldn’t give an exact amount, MacCallum gave him a “WTF?” look and then told him in so many words that she’d believe her panelist over Bernstein because she dealt with those issues “every single day” when she fills up her tow trucks.

In the next clip, MacCallum roasted Bernstein after he pointed out that things were supposedly worse in the UK. “Why would anyone in this country care about that, Jared?” His lame defensive answer was to put it back on her because in his view she was suggesting inflation was “Biden’s fault.”
When Bernstein also suggested she needed to put things in context of what was going on in the world, MacCallum shut that argument down, noting that people here in the U.S. “expect to have exceptional leadership, they don’t expect to be in the same boat as other countries. A lot of those countries have socialist governments, they have other problems that they’re dealing with…’
Bernstein then interrupted her and claimed she was completely missing the point (she wasn’t), but before he could go any further, MacCallum went off, stating that “Americans care about their experiences when it comes to the economy. They don’t feel a whole lot better when they’re told other folks have it worse.”

In addition to trying to get Biden off the hook for all the economic damage he’s caused, Bernstein then tried to make some strange argument about why MacCallum should explain to viewers “why Biden isn’t the President of the UK or the European Union,” which apparently in Bernstein’s view are to blame for why America is suffering from high inflation numbers.
This didn’t go over too well with some who watched from home:
Pretty sure Americans don’t need an explanation for “why Biden isn’t the President of the UK or the European Union” 🥴
I’m sure the citizens of those countries blame its leaders for their inflation/economic issues, no?
If so, why isn’t it fair for Americans to criticize Biden?

“Why isn’t it fair for Americans to criticize Biden?” Because the goal here of Team Biden and rank and file Democrats is to protect The Precious at all costs, even when it includes gaslighting the hell out of the American people by telling them that what they’re seeing isn’t really what they’re seeing.
MacCallum, I should point out, wasn’t the only Fox News anchor to take Democrats to task Tuesday for trying to paint a false portrait of how things are in America right now. Harris Faulkner grilled Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) over his support for the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act – a bill which does not do what it promises to do.
Apparently, the Fox News ladies were not in the mood for having BS flung in their direction, which was of course bad news for the Democrats who appeared on their respective programs but good news for the rest of us who are tired of this administration skating by during interviews on other networks when the economy is the subject under discussion.
