Latest WaPo Fact Check on Stacey Abrams Should Further Mobilize Georgia Voters Against Her

To say Stacey Abrams has been the recipient of some rather gracious and fawning media coverage over the last three years would be putting it mildly.

There is no mainstream news outlet, outside of perhaps Fox News, where you will not find a voluminous amount of puff pieces preaching about how she was supposedly instrumental in “saving” the country from former President Trump in 2020 and how she would have won the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election — if not for that “racist” Republican Brian Kemp’s supposed machinations behind the scenes.

But all the media favoritism in the world has not been able to save Abrams nor her allies from intense scrutiny over the claims they made about Georgia’s new voting law. Her false claims, along with President Biden’s, Sen. Raphael Warnock’s, and other Democrats set conditions on the ground that helped pave the way for Major League Baseball to pull their All-Star Game from the state.

While Biden got dinged with four Pinocchios from the Democrat-friendly fact-checkers at the Washington Post nearly a month ago over claims he made about the law, Abrams is just now receiving attention from the paper over some of her own similar claims.

The end result of an analysis of her statements about a supposed reduction in voting hours in Georgia was two Pinocchios for Abrams:

Really shoulda been four, but considering the source, we’ll take what we can get:

As I said yesterday, it can’t be stressed enough how the media/Democrat-driven bogus campaign against the Georgia voting law hurt the very people they claim they want to help. Not only did their lies set the stage for boycotts to be announced and MLB to pull the game, but matters were made worse once Warnock’s staff admitted after the fact that his comments were made based on an early version of the bill that did not make the final cut.

Then Abrams revised her USA Today op/ed piece post-MLB announcement in order to try and save face, and her accomplices at USA Today didn’t even bother to point it out until they got called out nearly three weeks later.

The worst part about it is that the state lost an estimated $100 million in revenue, much of which would have gone to the very minorities that Democrats said they wanted to protect from the non-existent “voter suppression” that was (not) in the law.

Play stupid political “woke” games, win stupid prizes, and in the end, it’s average Joes and Janes who suffer the most while politicians and activists still rake in the fundraising cash. Georgians should make sure Democrats pay a big political price at the ballot box in 2022 and 2024 for their willful deception, which is costing voters in the state far more than Georgia’s voting law ever will.
