Though it seems like the Goya Foods boycott nonsense happened ages ago, it was just a month ago that Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and leftist Hollywood celebs were all shouting from the rooftops about how Goya CEO Bob Unanue had “betrayed” the Latino community with his praise of President Trump during a Rose Garden ceremony where a “Hispanic Prosperity Initiative” was introduced that would, according to the White House, “improve Hispanic Americans’ access to educational and economic opportunities.”
Model and foodie celebrity Chrissy Teigen was one of the louder voices proclaiming at the time she would never buy Goya products again:
FUUUUUUUCK. A shame. Don’t care how good the beans taste though. Bye bye. https://t.co/xV7U0UO8CY
— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) July 10, 2020
In two additional tweets, she declared her full commitment to supporting immigrant workers even though a successful boycott would likely mean massive layoffs at Goya, which would obviously hurt Latino employees who worked for the nearly 85-year-old company:
Support the workers by empowering them to be stronger than this absolute bastard. I will personally do what I can to financially ensure these farms can carry on without them.

As it turns out, Teigen – who also attacked Ivanka Trump for having the audacity to express support for Goya – is in fact supporting Goya workers … by continuing to buy their products and use them in her cooking videos:
Chrissy Teigen is being criticized on social media for posting a cooking tutorial featuring Goya beans, weeks after encouraging her followers to boycott the brand.
[…]
Fast-forward to Thursday, and the “Cravings” cookbook author took to Instagram and showed off her recipe for oxtail stew. Displayed on her counter filled with ingredients was Goya green pigeon peas. Several people chastised Teigen’s hypocrisy, reminding her of the many ways in which she had slammed Goya and its CEO.
Her tutorial has been deleted, but not before others were able to get some screengrabs of the canned Goya beans product displayed on her kitchen counter:

Chrissy Teigen claimed she was boycotting Goya when the CEO came out in support of Trump. But on Instagram when she panned some ingredients on her kitchen counter, she reveals she’s not boycotting Goya at all. pic.twitter.com/8FVmHrW1l5

The Daily Mail snagged the video of Teigen’s Instagram story that featured the Goya beans, which you can watch below:
Teigen has not said a word on any of her social media feeds about getting caught with the evil contraband.
As funny as it is to see her exposed for her duplicity, it’s also infuriating when you think it all through. She and other well-off celebrities who advocated for the boycott are not the ones who suffer when politically-motivated boycotts are effective. Fortunately, in this case, it wasn’t, but that’s not the point.
The point is that these self-centered nitwits care more about appearing woke and socially aware, regardless of how their narcissistic efforts can negatively impact the lives of the very people they claim to want to help. Maybe Ms. Teigen will think twice next time she considers virtue-signaling about boycotts, but I somehow doubt it. Because as history has often shown us, liberals just never seem to learn.
