As RedState reported Tuesday, House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jim Jordan (R-OH) dropped a nuke on Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) multiple times during the course of the farcical Democratic House hearing yesterday on the federal response to the violent left-wing riots taking place in Democrat-run areas across the country.

One of the more notable moments was when Jordan, who previously blasted Nadler for calling Antifa a “myth”, played a video of reporters absurdly characterizing the anarchy in cities like Portland and Seattle as “peaceful protests” or “mostly peaceful.” Also in the video were clips of Democrats including presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden making similar declarations.

Because the video included clips of CNN reporters, fauxfended anchor Jake Tapper took a few minutes from his program yesterday to show the clips in context as though they negated Jordan’s point. He then demanded Jordan apologize to both the reporters and the American people, claiming “you did a disservice to the American people, and you did a disservice to the truth.”

Then the anchor who works for the same news network that employs gaslighting frauds like Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon concluded by saying “Any person of honor, any person who cares about the truth, would [apologize].”

The problem with Tapper’s chiding of Jordan was that in one of the “contextual” videos in question, reporter Dianne Gallagher did not at any point in the report call the violent protests violent. It was almost like she went out of her way to leave the information out. Watch the clip here in the middle of Tapper’s rant and see for yourself.

Another big problem with Tapper’s attempted fact check of Jordan is that it did not negate from Jordan’s point, as Twitter user Drew Holden reminded Tapper in a link that included a very lengthy thread of reporters calling the protests “mostly peaceful” or otherwise giving distorted impressions by painting things as going smoothly and peacefully until the feds dropped in:

We’ve also documented instances of news outlets like the New York Times and Reuters filing similar reports.

But the biggest problem with Tapper’s diatribe is that he overlooked indisputable instances of reporters on his network either pretending protests were like street festivals or in one particularly disturbing case, all but encouraging the violence and making excuses for it in such as way as to sound like a full-blown riot apologist. CNN correspondent Sara Sidner speaking with Cuomo, May 31st:

CUOMO: When they’re hurt, people get angry when they see no other recourse. How big a piece is that in what you’re seeing there?

SIDNER: Oh, it’s everything. Pain is everything. Pain is everything. It has informed everything that you have seen. I know people see violence and think that people are just taking advantage of the situation and there may be some people who are. I don’t know that every single person is doing this borne out of pain, but I can tell you many people are. We’ve seen it. They don’t know what to do with that emotion so their response, especially young folks, is to lash out and one of the young folks — we talked to them on your show. You had him on your show. A young man who was from Minneapolis who said, do you see all this damage here? You don’t listen to us when we speak, so you listen to us now, don’t you? So, acting out gets attention and they know that. Because the other way hasn’t gotten them the attention. It hasn’t done anything. It hasn’t changed anything, so they’re hoping this will. Will it? I don’t know. I was in Ferguson in 2014 for three months. We’re back here again.

In this clip shared by former CNN producer Steve Krakauer, a CNN reporter talks to Anderson Cooper about the street-festival like atmosphere of the Seattle CHAZ encampment, which he insinuated was peaceful day and night – right before being interrupted by an anarchist, June 12th:

The truth of the matter is that it’s not Jordan who Tapper should be pointing fingers at. It’s his own network. The receipts speak for themselves. #FactsFirst and all that.
