The videos and images we’ve seen on social media and the news from all over the country over the last week have at times been moving, like in instances where police officers and legitimately peaceful protesters were actually engaging in respectful dialogue. Far more often, though, we’ve seen the highly disturbing images and videos of the rampant looting, arson, assaults, and destruction that is being orchestrated in American cities like Minneapolis and Los Angeles day after day from so-called “peaceful protesters” in the name of “Justice for George.”

The state of New York was the grand central station of mass chaos Monday night as video by video surfaced of police being violently attacked under the cover of the night, being run over by SUVs while stores were looted and set on fire.

It looked like scenes straight out of “The Purge”, not something you’d see in America.

Between their documented leadership failures on managing the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak in their state and now this, President Trump made it clear on Twitter this morning that enough was enough. In one epic tweet, Trump called out NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) and Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), demanding they both act fast and call in the National Guard so this doesn’t turn into another nursing home scandal:

This was like the tweet version of a MOAB.

Trump tweeted this as reports are circulating about Gov. Cuomo’s criticism of his so-called “photo-op” yesterday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, which was set on fire by rioters. Trump’s visit also seriously triggered other Democrats and the MSM (but I repeat myself).

The longer the violence and rioting goes on, the more the whole situation plays into Trump’s hands. Cuomo’s been under growing pressure from the locals to answer for the nursing home scandal and other failures, and de Blasio is pretty much hated by everyone in New York City, including Democrats, for his gross mismanagement of the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.

Both of them are also in self-inflicted no-win situations with both the police unions and anti-police activists in the state. You try to please one, you enrage the other.

Cuomo and de Blasio both built this, they need to clean it up.

But until they do, Trump is going to do everything he can to shame them into quelling the riots and protecting the people before the state turns into a real-life version of Escape from New York.

And after what we saw go down there last night, I can’t say as I blame him. Just as it has been in the Wuhan coronavirus crisis, someone’s got to be the leader here. If Cuomo won’t, Trump will.
