While some Democrats clearly have a math problem, Hillary Clinton has a history problem.
Even in the midst of a global pandemic where everyone needs to be working together and putting political games aside, Clinton is still determined not to let this crisis go to waste. Taking to the Twitter machine this afternoon, the failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee posted a tweet comparing FDR to Trump:
In the face of crisis, FDR had the New Deal to help suffering Americans. Now, @realdonaldtrump, you and your fellow Republicans are pushing the #SelfDeal. See the difference?

Twitter users were quick to note that Clinton left a few things out about FDR’s legacy:
FDR put Japanese-Americans in concentration camps in arguably the greatest violation of civil rights since slavery. And you're holding him up as a model?
Also, a Clinton *really* shouldn't be talking about "self-dealing." https://t.co/cvbsfx3oIp

The New Deal did nothing to end the depression…
Let our PRESIDENT do his job!

Never Trumper George Conway made a similar comparison over the weekend, and it fell flat, as my RedState colleague Nick Arama explained:
You mean the guy who demonstrated what we really had to fear the power of the government which under him actually locked up Japanese and German Americans in camps and went on to demonstrate how an overgrown government can meddle in every aspect of daily life? The guy who toyed with socialism prior to Bernie Sanders and AOC? That guy?
Let’s also not forget that we are where we are (stalled) regarding agreement on a Wuhan coronavirus relief bill because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided to engage in despicable partisan stunts at the 11th hour over the weekend on an economic stimulus bill that everyone thought was a done deal.
Why exactly are Democrats holding the bill hostage? In a nutshell, they’re digging in their heels over a progressive wish list that has nothing to do with stimulating the economy, as Bonchie explained in detail here.
It’s pretty clear at this point that Hillary Clinton is determined to undermine President Trump in the middle of a pandemic because she still can’t get over 2016. It’s even more clear that it’s a good thing she’s not president right now.
Yo, Hillary: Pettiness and bitterness are not a good look, especially in the middle of a national health crisis.
