Another day, another example of the mainstream media holding Democrats to a different standard than Republicans.

Red State’s Nick Arama wrote last week about how Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) had been caught in a lie about her children never attending private schools.

To recap, here’s how Warren got outed:

[School choice advocate] Sarah Carpenter asked Warren why she was against school choice since she, Warren, had sent her kids to private school. Warren claimed, “My children went to public schools.”

But DeAngelis was able to track down a yearbook showing that Warren’s son, Alex, attended Kirby Hall School in Texas, a tony private school.

Warren’s presidential campaign later confirmed this information in a statement to the Free Beacon, saying Warren’s “daughter went to public school. Her son went to public school until 5th grade.” Which means after that her son attended private school.

Since the news of this story broke, Warren has been criticized by Republicans for once again being dishonest with voters about the claims she’s made about both her political and personal history. It’s part of a pattern with her, and it’s one she’s gotten away with far too often.

Former Florida governor and 2016 candidate for president Jeb Bush was one of the Republicans who recently took her to task for the lie she told about her children’s education. He tweeted out a link to a Reason story discussing the issue and why it matters:

The text of Bush’s tweet was an excerpt from the article.

NBC News political “journalist” Jon Allen pounced and seized on Bush’s tweet literally two minutes after it was posted, and absurdly claimed that Bush’s criticism of Warren’s falsehoods were actually an “attack” … on her children:

Twitter users called out Allen for dishonestly running interference for Warren by trying to use her children as a shield:

There’s also the inconvenient fact that Warren’s son is not a child anymore but a 43-year-old man. But even if the attack was against him for something he’d said or done as an adult, the media would still take issue with it, considering how they’ve handled attacks on Joe Biden’s 49-year-old son Hunter who himself has done questionable things worthy of scrutiny.

Meanwhile, the actual attacks on President Trump’s young son Barron barely if ever get condemnations from reporters.

Honestly, if the MSM didn’t have double standards they’d have no standards at all.
